Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and ultimately lead transaction execution across both public and private market M&A, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of workstreams for some of Australia’s largest companies
• Collaborate with senior bankers to originate business, including developing pitch book presentations, financial models and strategic ideas
• Build and maintain client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and expanding networks across sectors and geographies
• Develop your skill base including an understanding of business and financial products, market dynamics and the regulatory environment and the various factors that drive deal strategy, tactics and structuring
• Coordinate across functional teams, including product specialists and global coverage groups, to deliver integrated solutions
• Think creatively and laterally, and who sees obstacles as challenges to overcome not a reason to go ‘pens down’
The team
UBS is a widely regarded as the leading investment bank in the Australian market across both advisory and global markets. You'll be part of the Global Banking Advisory working in the a sector coverage role in Melbourne. Our team works closely with sector specialists and other product partners across Australia and the global UBS network, working on some of the more complex and dynamic transactions. You’ll play an important role in advising clients on a range of market and strategic matters, including strategic advice, mergers and acquisitions and acquisition funding. You’ll also develop client coverage skills more broadly across a select range of target clients.Your skills and experience
• 5+ years’ experience in investment banking or corporate advisory, with proven execution capability.• a track record of success - academically and professionally
• able to work effectively under pressure
• excellent financial analytics and modelling skills with the ability to produce high quality presentation material quickly and accurately
• able to communicate clearly and work effectively as part of a team
• strong interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders and maintain client trust
• genuine interest in a career in investment banking
