Skills and Competencies
- Good accounting or statistics background preferred (e.g., through coursework, CFA or equivalent)
- Interest in fixed income markets, credit analysis, financial markets, or related research preferred
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify key insights, and communicate findings clearly through coursework, projects, or prior experience
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage workflow, adapt to changing priorities, and prioritize tasks accordingly
- Proactive with the ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
- Interest in using AI tools and agents to support workflow automation and improve efficiency
- Relevant coursework, academic projects, prior internships
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Japanese
Education
- Students matriculating through college, studying towards a Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent qualification, or a Master’s Degree, in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Political Economy, International Relations, Statistics, or another quantitative field
- This role requires a 6-month commitment, with a schedule of 3 working days per week
Responsibilities
Supporting Analytical teams as needed. Examples of analytical work may include:
- Work on various analytical, research, data, process related projects
- Collect data and identify trends to support well-thought-out credit conclusions
- Prepare financial documents, charts, and presentations
- Responsible for monitoring media outlets for news regarding special projects or portfolios
- Contribute to the creation of high-quality research publications
About the Program
The Moody’s Ratings and Research Support (RRS) Working Student position offers current students an opportunity to develop skills that are valuable to any future career in the financial services industry. This will be an internally facing role, reporting to a Team Manager. Working student opportunities are offered to current students who wish to work part-time either full days or several half days (typically 6 to 12-month increments) depending on country.
Working Students complete project work determined by their team that have real impact, fostering a sense of accomplishment and professional growth. Participants will gain insights into diverse career paths and cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the company.

財務データの収集・分析、市場および発行体に関する情報のモニタリング、レポートやプレゼンテーション資料の作成などを通じて、格付に関する幅広い分析業務を経験していただきます。

- 格付に関する分析、リサーチ、データ管理および業務プロセスの改善等に関するプロジェクトへの参加

- 財務データや定量情報を的確に読み解き、重要なポイントを整理して分かりやすく伝えられる方
- Excel、Word、PowerPointを実務レベルで操作できる方

- 細部まで注意を払い、正確性を意識して業務に取り組める方
- 主体的に行動し、単独でもチームの一員としても円滑に業務を遂行できる方
- 日本語および英語の双方において、口頭および文書によるコミュニケーションができる方
