We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Developer to join our Life & Health Subsidiary in Sydney.
About the role:
Reporting directly to the Application Development Manager, this permanent role is part of our team. As a Senior Software Developer, you will be responsible for the development of new software applications and the enhancement, maintenance and support of existing software applications.
You can look forward to
- Coding and enhancing software applications using the Microsoft technology stack.
- Implementing user stories and technical requirements identified during sprint planning and participating in Scrum ceremonies, estimation activities, and release planning.
- Conducting code reviews and implementing unit testing to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Supporting and maintaining staging and production cloud environments.
- Troubleshooting and resolving defects and technical issues for clients and internal users.
- Working closely with developers, testers, business stakeholders, and end users to deliver business outcomes including knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the team
- Ensuring compliance, risk management, and governance requirements within the software development lifecycle
You come equipped with
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (desirable).
- Minimum 8 years' experience as a .NET Developer.
- Advanced technical skills in C#, Microsoft .NET, SQL Server, and Power BI.
- Strong knowledge of Azure cloud environments and CI/CD practices, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of secure coding principles, including OWASP practices.
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as VueJS.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a Scrum team environment.
