Programme Director for PB TOM KD

Position Overview

Deutsche Bank Private Bank (DB PB) is undertaking a strategic transformation and building a new future ready target operating model (TOM) for DB PB. As one of the key pillars of this new TOM, PB is undertaking a strategic transformation to harmonize its Avaloq Core Banking Platform landscape across Europe and Asia.

TDI Private Bank (TDI PB) is responsible for the technology that enables the Private Bank businesses. TDI PB teams build, enhance and operate applications and platforms that are critical to business growth, operational efficiency, service quality, and regulatory compliance.

As Program Director of the TDI PB team, you will lead our global Avaloq harmonization program which aims to simplify the technology landscape, increase standardization, accelerate change delivery, improve operational resilience, and create a scalable platform foundation for future growth. You will have end-to-end accountability for the successful execution of this multi-year strategic programme, working closely with senior stakeholders across Business, Operations, Infrastructure, Architecture, Risk, Compliance, Finance and external strategic partners.

The role demands leadership, initiative, motivation, technical experience, and gravitas. You must be able to develop and implement a harmonized IT platform within DB PB jointly with our vendor Avaloq.

Your Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Define, maintain and execute the strategic roadmap for the harmonization of the Avaloq Core Banking platform across Europe and Asia.
• Drive the transition towards a globally aligned target architecture, Operating Model and governance framework.
• Ensure alignment with Deutsche Bank's Private Bank technology strategy and business objectives.
• Lead transformation initiatives that improve client experience, operational efficiency, platform stability and regulatory compliance.
• Act as the senior executive sponsor for platform modernization, standardization and simplification initiatives.

Programme Delivery

• Maintain overall accountability for programme scope, delivery, budget, risks and benefits realization.
• Lead a complex portfolio of technology and business workstreams spanning multiple jurisdictions and legal entities.
• Ensure successful delivery of platform harmonization, migrations, release programmes and strategic transformation milestones.
• Establish robust programme controls, reporting and governance to provide transparency to executive management.

Governance and Stakeholder Management

• Establish and chair executive governance forums, steering committees and Design Authority structures.
• Drive global decision making and prioritization across Europe and Asia.
• Build strong partnerships across Technology, Business, Operations and Control Functions.
• Manage executive stakeholder engagement, communication and escalation processes.
• Ensure effective coordination across internal delivery organizations and strategic vendor partners.

Technology and Architecture Leadership

• Drive adoption of strategic architectural principles including standardization, simplification and reuse.
• Promote alignment to Avaloq standard capabilities and reduction of bespoke solutions where appropriate.
• Ensure consistency across integration architecture, data architecture and downstream ecosystems.
• Foster increased automation, AI-enabled delivery and industrialized testing capabilities.

Risk, Control and Regulatory Management

• Ensure programme delivery adheres to Deutsche Bank's risk and control framework.
• Maintain a strong focus on operational resilience, regulatory compliance and technology risk management.
• Oversee management of audit, regulatory and remediation commitments related to the programme.
• Proactively identify and mitigate strategic, operational and delivery risks.

Leadership and Talent Management

• Lead a globally distributed delivery organisation across Europe, Asia and strategic delivery centres.
• Create a high-performing, inclusive and accountable culture.
• Build organizational capability through effective talent management, succession planning and leadership development.
• Promote collaboration across regional and functional boundaries.

Your Level of Experience

Essential

• Extensive experience leading large-scale business and technology transformation programmes within global financial institutions.
• Proven track record delivering complex Core Banking or Wealth Management platform transformations.
• Deep understanding of Avaloq and associated operating models, delivery methodologies and ecosystem capabilities.
• Significant experience managing multi-country programmes across Europe and Asia.
• Demonstrated success in leading executive stakeholder engagement and governance.
• Strong understanding of Private Banking and Wealth Management business processes.
• Experience managing strategic vendor and partner relationships.
• Strong knowledge of risk, regulatory and control frameworks within the banking industry.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.

Preferred

• Experience within Deutsche Bank Private Bank or a comparable global wealth and private banking organisation.
• Experience leading platform consolidation and harmonization initiatives.
• Experience with large-scale cloud transformation programmes.
• Familiarity with automation and modern software engineering practices.
