Job Summary
The Analyst, TSG Product Management, is assigned to one or a few products. The Analyst is responsible for responding to user inquiries and troubleshooting issues, performing routine updates, and validating changes through testing. This role gathers product insights by tracking key metrics, monitoring usage and adoption, and collecting user feedback through periodic surveys. The Analyst also scopes and drives smaller enhancement requests — translating business needs into clear requirements — while communicating effectively with business users, technical teams, and other stakeholders to ensure their needs are fulfilled.
Principal Accountabilities and % of time
Product Maintenance & Analytics (50%)
- Supports existing enterprise analytics products (e.g., Power BI and Tableau) by responding to user inquiries and troubleshooting issues, investigating root cause and escalating to technical teams or platform specialists when required
- Independently makes complex manual updates based on incoming requests, applying sound judgment to optimize the product
- Runs periodic user surveys and forums to track satisfaction and identify areas for improvement
- Tracks and analyzes key metrics — including dashboards, usage, and adoption — summarizing insights and findings for stakeholders
- Tests routine updates and enhancements to validate functionality and ensure a user-friendly experience
Manage Enhancement Requests (40%)
- Elicits requirements on small-to-medium sized requests, working with users to translate use cases and pain points into underlying requirements and potential solutions
- Transforms these requests into actionable work via user stories, process flow diagrams, and other supporting documentation
- Works with appropriate technical teams and third parties to complete these items, prioritizing and communicating dependencies and tradeoffs with key stakeholders throughout
Develop Domain Knowledge (10%)
- Builds domain knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of relevant tools and platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Databricks or similar enterprise data platforms) to act more independently
- Stays up to date about emerging analytics technologies, including AI tools, to continuously improve ways of working
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to synthesize data, user feedback, and operational metrics into clear insights and recommended actions, and exhibit root-cause thinking
- Strong user support and troubleshooting skills; ability to respond to user inquiries, investigate issues, identify root causes, resolve where appropriate, and escalate effectively to technical teams or platform specialists
- Working knowledge of business intelligence and analytics concepts (e.g., dashboards/reporting, data access, user permissions, tool platform concepts, adoption, and common end-user workflows); familiarity with tools such as Power BI or Tableau; experience consuming data from Databricks or an enterprise data platform preferred
- Strong work management and organizational skills; ability to work from a backlog, coordinate multiple workstreams, track actions and dependencies, prioritize work, and communicate dependencies and tradeoff implications
- Ability to translate business needs into actionable requirements, including soliciting use cases, stakeholder requirements, and platform pain points
- Strong stakeholder communication skills; ability to work effectively with business users, technical teams, platform administrators, vendors, and product leadership
- Strong written communication and documentation skills, including product documentation, status updates, process materials, user guidance, and executive-ready summaries
- Curiosity and willingness to learn emerging analytics technologies; ability to quickly learn new tools and evaluate capabilities; experience incorporating AI tools into day-to-day operations preferred
Experience
- Experience supporting technology products, analytics platforms, or business systems, ideally in a product management, product operations, business analyst, or similar role. Experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau) and enterprise data platforms is preferred
- Experience with product maintenance and testing, including supporting routine updates and enhancements, validating functionality through testing, and assessing whether changes continue to meet user needs
- Experience working in a corporate environment
- Experience solving basic issues in software tools and turning findings into actionable next steps
- Experience supporting users or customers with clear and helpful communication.
- Experience with support platforms like ServiceNow is preferred
