Role Summary 

Vanguard is seeking a highly motivated technology leader to join Financial Advisor Services Technology (FAST) as a Senior Manager, IT Delivery. This role will lead teams responsible for delivering and modernizing critical technology platforms that support Vanguard’s Model Portfolio business and advisor experiences. 

The successful candidate will lead a portfolio of applications, services, and operational capabilities that enable the delivery of investment products, advisor solutions, data-driven experiences, and business-critical workflows. The role requires balancing strategic technology transformation with operational excellence, driving scalable platforms, simplifying complex processes, and ensuring reliable delivery across a broad ecosystem of business and technology partners. 

This leader will play a key role in advancing Vanguard's modernization journey through cloud-native engineering, platform simplification, automation, observability, and AI-enabled capabilities. As Vanguard expands its investments in artificial intelligence, this role is expected to evolve into leading engineering teams that build and support AI-powered products, intelligent workflows, and next-generation advisor solutions.

Responsibilities 

• Lead, develop, and inspire high-performing engineering and technology teams responsible for delivering business-critical platforms, products, and services supporting advisor and investment solutions. 

• Drive the execution of strategic technology initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities, modernization objectives, and long-term platform roadmaps. 

• Oversee end-to-end software delivery across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring solutions are delivered with high quality, reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. 

• Partner closely with Product, Business, Architecture, Operations, and Technology leaders to shape demand, define priorities, and deliver solutions that create measurable business value. 

• Establish and monitor delivery, operational, and service health metrics while driving continuous improvement in engineering practices, reliability, and customer experience. 

• Build and manage globally distributed teams by hiring, coaching, mentoring, and developing technology professionals while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning. 

• Lead platform modernization efforts focused on cloud adoption, automation, observability, resiliency, process simplification, and engineering excellence. 

• Drive operational excellence by improving controls, reducing technology risk, strengthening release readiness, and ensuring compliance with information security, risk, and governance requirements. 

• Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, intelligent automation, and data-driven capabilities to enhance business outcomes and operational efficiency. 

• Develop organizational capabilities and talent needed to support future AI-powered products, platforms, and engineering teams. 

• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, effectively communicating technology strategy, risks, priorities, investment needs, and delivery outcomes. 

• Manage vendor and third-party relationships, including evaluation, selection, and oversight of technology solutions and services. 

• Participate in strategic planning, workforce planning, budgeting, and investment decisions to ensure effective utilization of resources and achievement of business goals. 

• Develop and implement operational processes, governance frameworks, and continuous improvement initiatives that enable scalable growth and sustainable business outcomes. 

• Present technology strategy, delivery progress, service performance, and organizational initiatives to senior leadership and executive stakeholders. 

• Perform additional duties and leadership responsibilities as assigned. 

Qualifications & Skills 

Required 

• Minimum 10 years of experience in IT delivery, project management, or technology leadership roles, with expertise in software implementation and team management.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree in Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent preferred.
• Strong programming experience in Java and Python.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including serverless technologies, EC2, DynamoDB, Lambda, and related services.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting web applications, APIs, and microservices.

• Proven experience leading large-scale technology initiatives and managing high-performing engineering teams. 

• Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, Agile delivery methodologies, DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native architectures. 

• Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships across business and technology organizations. 

• Demonstrated success driving operational excellence, modernization programs, and organizational change. 

• Strong communication, leadership, and influence skills with the ability to engage senior leaders effectively. 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline. 

Preferred 

• Experience leading globally distributed teams. 

• Experience supporting financial services, fintech, wealth management, or investment platforms. 

• Exposure to Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Intelligent Automation, or Agentic AI solutions. 

• Experience with public cloud platforms, modern data architecture, and platform engineering practices.

This role is based in Hyderabad, Telangana at Vanguard India. Only qualified external applicants will be considered.
