We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to design, develop, and support enterprise applications and data platforms. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in software engineering, systems integration, and database development.
The successful candidate will be a partner with business and technology teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions.
This is an individual-contributor role with responsibility for leading technical design, coordinating delivery across multiple systems, and providing engineering guidance to development and support teams.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
• Design, develop, test, and support enterprise applications and services.
• Develop scalable solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and SQL.
• Build and optimize complex database queries, stored procedures, and data pipelines.
• Design and implement APIs, integrations, and distributed processing solutions.
• Contribute to application architecture, technical design, and engineering best practices.
• Perform code reviews and drive continuous improvement in software quality.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technology initiatives.
• Participate in incident investigation, root-cause analysis, problem management, and implementation of permanent corrective actions.
• Improve application observability through logging, monitoring, alerting, performance metrics, and operational dashboards.
• Design solutions with appropriate resiliency, recovery, availability, and supportability requirements.
• Develop automated unit, integration, regression, and performance tests.
• Build reusable components and promote consistency across engineering teams.
• Design and support reliable batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Implement appropriate data-quality checks, reconciliation, exception handling, lineage, and monitoring.
• Ensure data interfaces are traceable, supportable, and aligned with enterprise data standards.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
• 7+ years of software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, database design, and query optimization.
• Experience developing scalable, enterprise-grade applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience developing and consuming REST and SOAP web services.
• Experience with Angular.
• Experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with Apache NiFi and data integration solutions.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, environment configuration, and release controls.
• Experience working with capital-markets, Prime Brokerage, securities lending, trading, risk, margin, settlement, reference-data, or regulatory-reporting platforms is an asset
• Must-Have Skills: Java, Spring Boot, SQL
• Nice-to-Have Skills: Python, REST/SOAP Web Services, Angular, Apache NiFi, Apache Kafka, Git, SVN, DevOps, Capital Markets
