Do you want to work alongside a highly technical team shaping the future of electronic trading?We are seeking an experienced Java Electronic Trading Developer to join our Principal Cash Equities (CRB) trading team within UBS Global Markets. This hands-on role focuses on designing, building and enhancing high-performance algorithmic trading systems. The successful candidate will bring expert-level core Java development skills, low-latency engineering experience and a strong understanding of automated trading and quantitative analysis.
• develop the next generation of algorithmic trading solutions for the Principal Cash Equities business within UBS Global Markets' electronic trading platform
• design, build and maintain high-performance Java applications across the full software development lifecycle
• develop back-testing frameworks and implement production trading strategies
monitor and optimize the performance, stability and scalability of trading systems
• integrate trading applications with market data platforms, order management systems, quantitative analytics and reference data services
• apply quantitative analysis to enhance systematic quoting, execution, hedging and risk management strategies
• collaborate closely with trading, quantitative research and technology teams to deliver innovative electronic trading solutions

Your skills and experience
• 5 to 15 years of experience building algorithmic trading software• bachelor's degree from an IIT, NIT, or equivalent institution in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
• strong knowledge of Java, computer networks, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems
• proven experience developing low-latency, GC-free applications and high-performance trading systems
• solid understanding of Equities, Exchange-Traded Derivatives, FX, or related asset classes
• hands-on experience with exchanges, market data platforms, OMS systems, and RFQ platforms
• strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using data to improve trading outcomes
• prior experience in a regulated role is an advantage
• Curiosity to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment – validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use
