Role purpose
As a Human Capital Generalist, you will play a key role in delivering day-to-day Human Capital operations for Hong Kong, while supporting the wider regional HC team as required. The role covers a broad range of employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding and offboarding, payroll and benefits administration, HRIS and employee data management, statutory and compliance matters, and general employee support.
Working closely with the Talent Management team and other HC colleagues, you will help ensure that people processes are delivered accurately, efficiently, and with a high-quality employee experience. You will also be expected to identify opportunities to improve existing processes and leverage digital tools, AI, and automation to reduce manual work and enhance operational efficiency.

Meet the Team
- Reports to: Human Capital Manager, North Asia & Greater China
- Day-to-day collaborators: Human Capital Manager, Talent Managers, HC colleagues across APR and globally, and colleagues from other functions including Legal, Finance and IT.
- People management: This role does not have direct people management responsibilities but is expected to work collaboratively with HC colleagues across the region and support team members as required.

- Deliver reliable HC operations by managing key day-to-day HC processes accurately and efficiently, helping ensure a consistent and positive employee experience.
- Support employees and the business effectively by responding to employee needs, coordinating with Talent Management and other stakeholders, and escalating more complex matters appropriately.
- Improve how the team works by identifying opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual work, and leverage AI and automation tools to improve efficiency and consistency across HC operations.
Your Day-to-Day
Employee Support & Talent Management Partnership
- Provide day-to-day HC support to employees and managers in Hong Kong, responding to general people-related queries and ensuring a positive employee experience.
- Partner closely with Talent Managers to support employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, employee status changes, leave, transfers, and offboarding.
- Support employee relations matters by gathering relevant information, applying policies and local requirements, and escalating more complex or sensitive cases to the HC Manager as appropriate.
- Provide practical guidance to employees and managers on HC policies, benefits, processes, and local practices.
- Monitor employee data and recurring queries to identify potential issues or trends and raise them proactively with the HC Manager and Talent Management team.
- Support the implementation of regional and global HC policies and initiatives in Hong Kong, adapting processes to local requirements where necessary.
- Collaborate with HC colleagues across APR and globally, sharing information and good practices to support consistent delivery across the region.
Human Capital operations
- Manage day-to-day HC operations across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee changes, documentation, approvals, payroll coordination, and offboarding, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
- Monitor operational processes, identify issues or bottlenecks, and work with the HC Manager and relevant stakeholders to resolve them effectively.
- Coordinate payroll and benefits administration for Hong Kong, working closely with external vendors and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Maintain accurate employee data and documentation across HR systems and personnel files, ensuring appropriate controls and compliance with local requirements.
- Identify opportunities to simplify and improve HC processes, including the use of automation and digital tools to reduce manual work and improve consistency.
- Leverage AI and other digital tools where appropriate to improve efficiency, support problem-solving, and enhance day-to-day HC operations.
- Collaborate with HC colleagues across APR and globally, sharing knowledge and supporting regional initiatives and operational needs as required.
Employee relations and stakeholder management
- Support day-to-day employee relations matters, ensuring appropriate consideration of company policies, local requirements, and relevant regulations.
- Assist with ER and compliance investigations by gathering information, coordinating documentation, and supporting follow-up actions as required.
- Support employee exits and termination processes, working closely with the HC Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
- Handle sensitive employee matters with discretion, professionalism, and appropriate confidentiality.
- Ensure employee and stakeholder communications are clear, timely, and consistent with company policies and values.
- Identify and escalate complex, sensitive, or higher-risk matters promptly to the HC Manager, working with Legal, Compliance, and other relevant functions where appropriate.
Skills & What You Bring to the Team
- At least three (3) years of experience as an HR Operations personnel, ideally within a multinational or globally matrixed organization.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate, timely work in a fast-paced environment.
- Practical experience across key HR operations, including employee lifecycle processes, payroll and benefits, HRIS, and employee support.
- Good understanding of Hong Kong employment laws, statutory requirements, and HR best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, assess options, and escalate appropriately when required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with employees, managers, and cross-functional teams.
- A proactive mindset with an interest in process improvement, automation, and using AI and digital tools to improve efficiency.
- Experience using Workday or other HRIS platforms is desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Psychology, Industrial Relations, or another related field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with confidence using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude.
