Senior Digital Risk Control Advisor – Data & Technology Finance

About the Role
As a Senior Digital Risk Control Advisor, you'll serve as a trusted partner to our Finance IT department, ensuring that digital and technology risks are properly identified, assessed, and controlled, with particular focus on financial data flows, transformations, interfaces, reconciliations and closing activities. You'll help build a robust risk culture while enabling innovation and business growth through effective risk management practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead risk assessments and control evaluations for Digital & Technology teams supporting Finance
- Translate financial reporting, operational risk, and regulatory requirements into practical control expectations for finance processes and the supporting applications and data flows
- Design effective internal controls over Financial Reporting and embed them into operational procedures through collaboration with technology teams
- Drive automation and standardization of finance control execution, evidence, monitoring, and reporting, including automated and semi-automated controls
- Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen our risk position
- Build operational transparency through continuous monitoring and assessment of controls against our risk appetite
- Provide transparency on the Finance risk and control landscape to Senior Management
- Coordinate audit activities and serve as the primary point of contact for Internal and External Audits
- Provide expert guidance on digital risk and control activities within Finance IT
- Promote risk awareness by staying current with evolving digital risk requirements and ensuring proper framework implementation
- Foster innovation in risk management approaches and methodologies

Our team combines technical expertise with business acumen to provide practical risk management solutions that protect the organization while enabling innovation and growth.
About You
You're a strategic thinker with a passion for risk management and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. You understand both the technical and business aspects of digital risk and can communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. You're proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement in risk management practices.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Autonomy, curiosity, proactivity, and confidence in decision-making at speed
- Proven experience in Finance technology risk and controls, financial controls, IT audit supporting Finance, or risk management within a complex financial-services environment
- Good understanding of financial reporting control concepts, including COSO, ICoFR/SOX principles, risk and control self-assessment, and the role of IT general and application controls
- Industry experience in insurance, reinsurance, or banking, with understanding of modern technology solutions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders from senior managers to IT engineers
- Fluency in spoken and written English
These are additional nice to haves:
- CISA, CGEIT, CRISC or similar professional qualifications
- Experience with control automation and continuous monitoring techniques
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative networks across IT domains
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week
