The Statistics Department (STA) of the IMF, and the IMF’s African Regional Technical Assistance Center in East Africa (AFRITAC East), have an opening for a Real Sector Statistics Advisor (RSSA) based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The RSSA will oversee and undertake capacity development support in real sector statistics in the eight countries covered by AFRITAC East: Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania (including Zanzibar), and Uganda. The RSSA’s initial appointment would be for a period of one year with the possibility for extension up to three years, contingent on performance, ongoing budget/business need and management approval.

The RSSA will work under the general direction of the AFRITAC East Director and the technical direction of STA at IMF headquarters. He/she should expect to travel within the region and to interact frequently with country authorities, including remotely.
