Skills and Competencies
Required skills for the position:- Experience with the Python programming language, including reading and writing tested, reviewed code
- Basic understanding of cloud technologies and how applications are hosted, configured and monitored in a cloud environment
- Familiarity with web application concepts, including application programming interfaces and the separation between a backend service and a browser frontend
- Experience with a version control system such as Git, and comfort working from the command line on a Unix or Linux system
- Self-motivated and solutions-oriented, with the ability to make progress with high-level guidance rather than step-by-step direction
- Clear and confident communicator, able to explain technical work to engineering, product and business audiences
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-moving delivery environment
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
Nice-to-have skills that are beneficial but not mandatory:
- Experience building or extending applications that call large language model services, including prompt design and evaluation of model output
- Experience with an asynchronous Python web framework such as FastAPI
- Experience with modern frontend development using TypeScript, React or Next.js
- Experience writing unit, regression or integration tests, and working with continuous integration pipelines
- Exposure to infrastructure as code, such as Terraform, and to cloud services for application hosting, secret storage, document databases and container registries
- Familiarity with the JavaScript Object Notation data format and with event streaming over HTTP, such as server-sent events
- Interest in emerging agent interoperability protocols, such as the Model Context Protocol and agent user interface streaming standards
- Exposure to application logging, tracing and telemetry tools used to troubleshoot production issues
Education
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or a related field
- Candidates ideally graduating in 2028
- Anticipated Start Date: March 2027
Responsibilities
Support the engineering team that builds and operates an enterprise agentic AI assistant serving as a virtual project manager for internal teams.- Support the development and iteration of AI agent features, including new specialist agents, supervisor and critic workflows, and tool integrations across Microsoft Graph, SharePoint and Planner
- Work with frontier large language model services to design prompts, tune agent behavior and evaluate model outputs under the guidance of senior engineers
- Implement and extend Model Context Protocol tool integrations that expose enterprise data sources to the agent at runtime
- Build streaming interfaces, compliant with the team's agent user interface standard, that connect the React frontend to the backend agent through server-sent events
- Build and maintain evaluation datasets and automated pipelines that measure agent quality and catch regressions
- Contribute to frontend feature development using Next.js, React and the team's conversational user interface toolkit, following Moody's brand and accessibility standards
- Assist with cloud infrastructure management through infrastructure as code, covering application hosting, document databases, secret storage and container registries, and collaborate with security and operations partners to ensure configurations meet Moody's security policies
- Support cloud infrastructure management and security-compliant configurations
- Take end-to-end ownership of Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and system reliability

Our Digital Workplace Services Engineering team is responsible for building and operating the internal applications Moody's employees rely on every day. The team designs and ships an enterprise agentic AI application that serves as a virtual project manager for internal teams, owns the full stack behind it, and partners with security and operations colleagues to run it safely in production.
