Mid/Senior Cloud AI & DataOps Engineer (m/f/diverse)

Your tasks

• Building, operating and continuously improving cloud platform capabilities supporting data, machine learning and generative AI workloads across Azure and Google Cloud;
• Designing, implementing and maintaining reusable Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform and related automation technologies;
• Developing and evolving platform standards, engineering guardrails and reusable patterns for cloud, DataOps, MLOps and AI platform services;
• Building and improving CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation and release processes supporting data, AI and cloud platform engineering;
• Enabling secure, compliant and scalable deployment patterns for data pipelines, machine learning workloads, AI services and platform components within a regulated banking environment;
• Implementing monitoring, observability, logging and operational controls for cloud platforms, data services, AI workloads and supporting infrastructure;
• Integrating identity management, secrets handling, networking, governance and security controls into reusable platform capabilities and engineering standards;
• Collaborating closely with data engineers, data scientists, software engineers, architects and platform teams to improve engineering productivity, reliability and operational excellence;
• Supporting the full lifecycle of data, machine learning and AI solutions, including versioning, testing, deployment, release, rollback and operational support;
• Contributing to architecture decisions, technology selection and engineering approaches related to cloud platforms, AI enablement, platform modernization and enterprise integration;
• Supporting strategic initiatives involving cloud transformation, AI adoption, platform engineering, automation and cloud-native operating models;
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation, platform standards, reference architectures and reusable implementation guidance for engineering teams.

Your Profile

• Proven experience with building and supporting cloud-native solutions using Azure and/or Google Cloud services, networking, identity, security and managed platform capabilities.;
• Strong experience with building and operating cloud platform capabilities for data, machine learning and generative AI workloads across Azure and/or Google Cloud;
• Proven experience in developing and maintaining Terraform modules, configurations and standards for cloud platform delivery;
• Good knowledge of automating platform engineering tasks, validations, integrations and operational workflows;
• Experience with supporting versioning, testing, deployment, monitoring and lifecycle management for data and AI solutions;
• Experience with designing and supporting API-based integrations between platform capabilities, product systems and enterprise tooling;
• Experience with integrating identity, secrets management, networking and governed access controls into reusable platform standards and capabilities;
• Proven experience in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, with a strong understanding of GitOps tools (e.g., Github Enterprise), container registries, Helm charts, and modern deployment workflows;
• Great communication skills as well as self-motivation;
• Fluency in English – both written and spoken;
• University degree in IT or relevant.

In the role of Cloud AI Platform & DataOps Engineer, you will contribute to the design, implementation and continuous improvement of cloud platform capabilities that enable data, machine learning and generative AI workloads to be delivered securely, efficiently and at scale across Commerzbank's technology landscape.

You will work primarily with Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support the development of secure, scalable and compliant platforms for data engineering, advanced analytics, machine learning and AI solutions. The role includes close collaboration with data engineers, data scientists, software engineers, platform engineers, architects and security specialists to enhance automation, reliability, governance and operational excellence across the end-to-end AI and data delivery lifecycle.
