Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Independently underwrite financial lines products for SME clients, including professional liability, within authority limits
- Conduct risk assessments, determine coverage and pricing, issue quotes, endorsements, and policy documentation
- Review new business and renewals to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to underwriting guidelines; monitor profitability
- Implement prudent underwriting practices aligned with the company’s underwriting philosophies and profitability targets
- Support portfolio management activities, including tracking performance against business plans and profitability targets
- Assist with marketing initiatives, product presentations, and development of client-facing materials to promote Financial Lines offerings
- Develop and maintain close relationships with insurance intermediaries and other distribution channels; explore new business opportunities
- Respond to intermediary inquiries and provide timely service within defined service standards
- Align underwriting decisions with profitability targets; maintain documentation and audit trails for compliance
- Participate in ad-hoc projects, product development, and process improvement initiatives
- Monitor regulatory compliance and internal controls; escalate issues as needed
- Prepare and present performance reports to management; identify issues and propose corrective actions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree or above, preferably in Insurance Studies or related field
- A minimum of 5ears in the insurance industry, with emphasis on General Insurance and Financial Lines; professional liability experience preferred
- ACII, ANZIIF and IA license holder preferred
- Proactive, collaborative team player; able to work independently; detail-minded; sound judgement; analytical and problem-solving abilities; strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with underwriting systems
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with insurance intermediaries and distribution partners
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Strong written and spoken communication in Mandarin and English
