Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range

$120,400.00 - $198,700.00

What Is the Opportunity?

Product Development teams play a critical role in the development and achievement of Travelers' financial objectives (growth, profit & retention) for one or more insurance products through the development, implementation, and monitoring of product strategies and corresponding actions.

As a Director, Product Development — Surplus Lines, you serve as the enterprise subject matter authority for Excess and Surplus Lines product operations across six Business Insurance business units processing first-party lines of business. You manage the compliance, documentation, regulatory, and advisory functions that enable accurate and compliant surplus lines policy issuance, state reporting, and product guidance.

In this role, you lead the maintenance and enhancement of surplus lines product guides and forms, administer state-specific regulatory processes, coordinate across Legal Services, BI–Finance, Corporate Compliance, and field operations, and deliver training and onboarding support to sustain operational continuity.

This position may coach, provide feedback, and/or oversee a team.
