Java Developer (Cards and New Payments) (m/f/diverse)

Your tasks

• Developing new Java based application for digital products and services of the Bank. These new applications as a part of the portal platform of the bank;
• Integrating backend systems from the Commerzbank IT landscape to realize the functionality of your own application;
• Designing and developing solutions for complex business requirements and business data objects of the digital finance functionalities and processes. Of course, you will be supported by the business analysts and other developers of the team;
• Supporting incident resolution and bug fixing and supporting the test and development team
• Working in an agile team setup, meaning the team includes business domain colleagues, business analysts, architects, developers and application operation experts;
• Participating in scrum ceremonies (Daily, Planning, Review, Retro) using VidCo/Telco or – exceptionally – in person.

Your Profile

• Solid experience with Java and Spring Boot;
• Strong understanding of design principles and algorithmic skills;
• Experience with REST API definition and implementation;
• Experience with Reactive programming in Java;
• Experience with Asynchronous programing;
• Experience with JUnit, Mockito or any Unit test frameworks;
• Basic understanding of CI/CD, DevOps concepts, Docker containers and Secret vaults;
• Experience with Git/Svn or any other version control tools;
• Basic understanding of any relational databases;
• Basic understanding of any query language is an advantage;
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills;
• Proactive mindset;
• Fluency in English – both written and spoken;
• University degree in IT or relevant.

The cluster Cards and new payments develops and supports all topics regarding POS transactions, e-commerce, P2P and cash disposal at ATMs. Commerzbank is part of a national (#DK) and an international payment initiative (EPI) with the aim to achieve a common payment service in Germany and across Europe. Therefore, we committed ourselves in participating and implementing agreed functionalities at Commerzbank. This requires both front-end and back-end adjustments, for which we need support. By using J2EE, REST and SOAP APIs, React.js, Springboot, Micro services development, CI/CD pipeline we are developing in the environment of Cards & new Payments (CNP).
