Your tasks
- Leading and developing a team of application operations engineers located in Sofia.
- Owning the initial recruitment and continuous expansion of the team.
- Reporting to the Cluster Lead located in Germany.
- Leading and improving the agile team setup, including collaboration with Technical Product Managers.
- Receiving, evaluating and prioritizing Product Owner requirements and defining operational requirements for different solutions.
- Coordinating the team’s contribution to the operational stability and quality of comdirect systems.
- Contributing to digital process and system design, complex technical solutions, architecture and system development strategy.
- Being open for business trips to Germany - especially within the first weeks and on a regular basis
- Being ready to work in our open space office environment in Sofia
Your Profile
- Strong leadership experience as leading and developing a team of engineers, business analysts and application operators.
- Strong background in Application Operations - Installing, maintaining and running complex, customer-value systems.
- Competence in Agile Software Development / Scrum – Strong background in Scrum ceremonies, agile methods, task distribution and reporting, raising risks and setting timely-delivery expectations.
- High knowledge of Cyber Security Practices - harden systems and contributing to task forces during security incidents.
- Good knowledge of Solution Architecture - Contributing to and designing the technical architecture of solutions for complex business requirements.
- DevOps, Cloud, Kubernetes- Developing pipelines and cloud-based solutions on Kubernetes.
- Receiving, evaluating and prioritizing requirements, and supporting teams and stakeholders in delivering solutions.
- Coordinating solution readiness, completeness and acceptance testing; document progress, actions and release information; plan releases, rollout and hypercare.
- Good analytic thinking with attention to details to solve problems
- Proactively driving projects and tasks to deliver results
- Customer orientation and ownership attitude for the assigned responsibilities to deliver results in time and in line with the clients’ need
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- High flexibility and adaptability to fast-changing environment

The comdirect IT Cluster Tech Base & Services is part of the Key Area GS-CODE (comdirect Delivery) and develops, deploys and operates the IT products of the comdirect brand. It supports nearly 3 million online and mobile customers and the customer-care platform used by approximately 1,500 agents, with the goal of providing a stable, secure and scalable platform for self-directed banking, brokerage and customer-care use cases.
As Chapter Lead, you are responsible for the disciplinary management and professional development of the chapter’s staff, with application operations as the primary focus for the comdirect brand. The chapter brings together application operation engineers across UNIX and Microsoft Windows ecosystems and, as needed, cloud, database, automation, monitoring and DevOps expertise.
In addition to the leadership role, the Chapter Lead has engineering responsibilities and translates the group vision into practical, customer-oriented solutions. The role supports Product Owners by ensuring suitable qualitative and quantitative capacity, developing chapter strategy and standards, enabling knowledge exchange and best practices, and coordinating effective collaboration across cells, chapters and the comdirect and Commerzbank brands.
