OUR TEAM
As a Protective Security Officer at Thales, you'll play a key role in safeguarding our people, assets and operations across Defence, aerospace and critical infrastructure environments. Working as part of our newly established in-house security team, you'll deliver frontline security support, incident response and site assurance activities while providing a professional and visible security presence.
YOUR ROLE
Role located in Melbourne CBD, with working hours between 8:00am and 17:30pm
Maintain a visible security presence through patrols, site checks and security assurance activities
Respond to incidents, alarms and emergencies quickly and professionally
Manage site access, visitor coordination and contractor approvals
Support security compliance, reporting and risk management activities
Build strong relationships with employees, visitors and stakeholders while promoting a positive security culture
YOUR EXPERIENCE
Experience in security, Defence, law enforcement, emergency services or a similar operational environment
Strong knowledge of security, risk management and site safety practices
Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach and the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
Able to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions in fast-paced environments
Experience in incident response, access control and visitor management is highly regarded
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a relevant State or Territory Security Licence applicable to the role
AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE ROLES & SECURITY
A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
Additional information with regards to clearances is available from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website http://www.defence.gov.au/AGSVA/. In some cases, individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role. The Australian Defence Trade Controls Act (DTCA) is applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
