Job Summary

Job Description
We are seeking talented and motivated individuals for the role of Agile Product Specialist and Developer. Successful candidates will be an experienced programmers who can develop user stories, develop test cases, break down, design, and develop solutions in an environment with constant collaborative discussions. They will be matured individuals who are comfortable working in an agile environment with critical peer reviews of design and code. They must be able to offer constructive critical reviews of other’s designs and code. They must be able to collaboratively work with product owners to develop use stories and test cases. They will be able to research, trial, and recommend new technologies of interest to the group. They will have experience with taking code through testing, deployment, and production and will not have merely handed off code to QA and Production Support. 

Support the end to end lifecycle of wholesale/transaction banking digital channel products (e.g. online banking portals, mobile apps, host-to-host, APIs). Act as the bridge between business, operations, and technology teams to ensure digital channels are stable, secure, user centric, and aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Microservices design and development using Spring boot, Jackson, API, AXWAY/KONG API Gateway, Apache tomcat, Java, JSON API, Oracle and AWS/OpenShift cloud.
• Should have strong knowledge in Design principles for both Server side and UI.
• Should have strong communication skills to participate in the design forum. 
• Nice to have HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript (es6), Ember, ReactJS, Cordova, Gulp / Grunt, Graph SQL, jQuery, bootstrap, compass, Browser stack, handlebars, Sass, Cordova, Mobile hybrid development.
• Advocate delivery excellence, minimising delivery risk.
• Agile development of banking services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in agile development.
• Conduct continuous development and/or integration & testing.
• Support definition and refinement of the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for WRB digital channels.
• Maintain and prioritise product backlogs based on business value, risk, customer feedback, and technical constraints.
• Assist in preparing business cases, cost–benefit analyses, and benefit tracking for new features or enhancements.

People & Talent
• Candidate should have hands-on experience in Spring boot and API development.
• Strong knowledge in Agile Development (exp in CI/CD/TDD/BDD, SCRUM, KanBan etc)
• Min 12 years’ experience Software development and min 6 yrs in team Management & project management.
• Experience with leveraging advanced features and tools in Atlassian software suite
• Passion and flair for technology, at home with team-oriented, collaborative and consultative environment
• Proven skills in co-ordination, staff management and leadership working with vendors and internal teams 
• Strong knowledge of risk and regulatory delivery 
• Knowledge of all aspects of software design and development 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills 
• Should have a good analytical skill. 
• Ready to work on both development and project management.
• Contribute to creation of standards & frameworks for the project
• Should have the capability to handle more than one project at a same time.
• Prepare architecting solutions document, technical audits for the project
• Prepare High/Low level technical design document. 
• Learn and understand relevant application functional & technical architecture and use the same effectively during development 
• Follow documented SDLC life cycle as per quality management standards
• Participate in Requirement gathering and solution meetings 
• Track overall development and project management 
• Support developers by providing technical assistance and improve technical competency levels amongst team members

• Design modules based on technical specs
• Implement best practices
• Gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements from internal stakeholders (business, operations, risk, compliance, technology).
• Translate business requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and use cases for IT delivery teams.
• Contribute to solution design discussions, ensuring alignment with architecture, security, and regulatory standards.
• Support UX/UI teams with customer journey mapping and usability improvements.

Risk Management
• Ensure product changes adhere to internal policies, model governance, and risk frameworks.

Governance 
• Support impact analysis and implementation of regulatory changes (e.g. Basel frameworks, local prudential rules, stress testing, IFRS related risk requirements). 
• Contribute to audits, model validations, and control testing related to risk tools and processes.
• Help maintain robust controls around data lineage, access, and change management.

Regulatory & Business Conduct 
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Key stakeholders
• Serve as a key contact for business stakeholders regarding digital channel capabilities and constraints.
• Liaise with external vendors and service providers for solution delivery, support, and issue resolution (where applicable).
• Communicate product updates, roadmaps, and impact assessments to stakeholders in a clear and structured way.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
• Experience (6–8+ years) in product management, business analysis, or project roles within banking or financial services, preferably in digital channels or transaction banking.
• Experience working with cross functional teams in a complex, regulated environment.
• Professional certifications (e.g. Agile/Scrum, product management, business analysis) are an advantage but not mandatory.
