Your work profile
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Commodity Trading & Risk Management (CTRM) professional to join our team as Manager. This role will lead client engagements across Commodities and Energy markets, delivering advisory, technology, and transformation solutions related to trading, risk, and regulatory compliance.
Key skills required:
Client Engagement & Delivery
- Lead large-scale CTRM transformation and implementation programs, including system selection, design, and deployment (e.g., Endur, Allegro, Openlink, Aspect, Eka).
- Advise clients on front-to-back trading lifecycle processes—trade capture, scheduling, risk, PnL, settlements, and accounting.
- Deliver target operating models (TOMs) for trading and risk functions.
- Oversee project governance, delivery quality, timelines, and financial performance.
Risk Management & Advisory
- Provide expertise in market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, and operational risk for commodities trading.
- Design and implement risk frameworks, including VaR, stress testing, exposure management, and hedging strategies.
- Support clients with regulatory compliance (e.g., EMIR, Dodd-Frank, REMIT, MiFID II as applicable).
Technology & Systems
- Lead architecture discussions and implementations of CTRM/ETRM systems and integrations with ERP, market data, and analytics platforms.
- Drive data strategy and analytics initiatives, including real-time risk reporting and dashboards.
- Collaborate with technology teams on system enhancements, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.
Business Development
- Identify and drive new business opportunities within existing and new clients.
- Contribute to proposal development, RFP responses, and thought leadership in the commodities domain.
- Build strong client relationships at senior stakeholder levels.
- Experience with Agile/DevOps delivery models in CTRM implementations.
- Knowledge of data platforms, AI/ML use cases, or advanced analytics in trading.
- Certifications such as FRM, CFA, SCR, or Energy Risk Professional (ERP) is an added advantage.
- Exposure to global trading hubs and cross-border regulatory frameworks.
Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor cross-functional teams, including consultants, analysts, and technology specialists.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
- Support talent development and capability building within the CTRM practice.
- Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of commodity markets, derivatives, and hedging strategies.
- Leadership: Ability to lead complex engagements and manage senior stakeholders.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and quantitative skills.
- Communication: Excellent executive-level presentation and storytelling skills.
- Commercial Acumen: Ability to identify opportunities and contribute to revenue growth.
- Technology Awareness: Familiarity with data, cloud, and analytics trends in trading environments.
Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience in commodities trading, risk management, or CTRM consulting.
- Strong experience in one or more commodities: Oil & Gas, Power & Utilities, Metals, Agricultural commodities.
- Proven track record with CTRM/ETRM platforms (Endur/Openlink, Allegro, Eka, Aspect, etc.).
- Deep understanding of trade lifecycle, risk analytics, and PnL attribution.
- Experience working in consulting environments or global firms is highly preferred.
