Accounting Assistant Manager

Description & Requirements
The Accounting Assistant Manager will provide timely and accurate accounting support services in accordance with the Firm’s accounting policies and global processes, while managing the activities and staff of the End-to-End Service Center Accounting department.
Main responsibilities:
- Ensure the timely and accurate execution of financial close activities in accordance with closing schedules and established guidelines.
- Ensure the Center Accounting team complies with the Firm’s standard processes and procedures.
- Ensure Record-to-Report Catalogue services are delivered within agreed service-level agreements.
- Monitor and report transition and service-delivery progress, and drive team activities that support smooth and successful service transitions.
- Lead team members in identifying and implementing process improvements and efficiencies within Accounting.
- Provide expert input on internal and external financial audit queries.
- Exercise strong analytical skills and sound professional judgment in complex situations.
- Guide and support direct reports in performing their responsibilities, identifying development opportunities, and completing performance discussions and evaluations.
- Ensure training materials and manuals are reviewed and updated regularly.
- Challenge established ways of working and use relevant technology, including AI tools, to support productivity, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
Skills and experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or another relevant business discipline.
- A CPA license or equivalent professional accounting certification is required.
- Strong experience in a relevant field, with significant experience in a supervisory role; experience in a professional services firm or shared service center is preferred.
- A solid understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and general accounting principles.
- Experience leading financial close activities, service transitions, process improvements, and team performance.
- Strong analytical skills and sound professional judgment.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Business proficiency in written and spoken English.
- The ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced, changing environment and adapt successfully to changing priorities and work demands.
- Demonstrated ability to handle difficult conversations, provide timely feedback, and address performance concerns appropriately.
- Experience using AI or other digital tools to improve processes, productivity, or decision-making is advantageous.
Reports to: Accounting Senior Manager
Direct reports: Accounting Analysts, Supervisors, and/or Specialists
Key relationships: In-Market R2R Business Partners and End-to-End Service Centers
