The Role:

As Director, Retail Segmentation Program, you are responsible for translating the approved segmentation strategy into detailed business design, execution roadmaps, and day-to-day delivery across Canadian Banking. This includes shaping practical segment propositions, client and employee experiences, operating requirements, and implementation plans within the broader program governance.

Reporting to the Vice President, Special Projects, the Director works through cross-functional partners to enable consistent execution across products, channels, digital and physical journeys, advice, servicing, communications, tools, and frontline routines. The role coordinates delivery, resolves working-level issues, supports governance discussions and decision-making, tracks performance and benefits, and recommends refinements that keep the model practical, commercially relevant, and aligned to client needs and business priorities.

Is this role right for you?  In this role you will:

• Lead detailed business design for Retail Segmentation, translating approved priorities into practical segment propositions, client and employee experiences, operating requirements, and execution plans.
• Develop and manage execution roadmaps for approved segment priorities, including sequencing, owners, timelines, dependencies, metrics, risks, and required working-level decisions.
• Oversee the design and optimization of selected segment journeys, using client data, frontline feedback, and performance insights to improve client experience, employee experience, and business outcomes.
• Shape working-level recommendations for business trade-offs, sequencing, scope, implementation implications, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate inputs and recommendations for prioritizing and sequencing segmentation initiatives across Canadian Banking, helping ensure alignment, reduce overlap, and balance near-term delivery with longer-term model evolution.
• Contribute to business case development for segmentation initiatives by defining expected benefits, implementation considerations, risks, dependencies, and value realization measures.
• Prepare senior leadership materials, recommendations, and progress updates to support prioritization, decision-making, benefits reporting, and governance discussions.
  Act as the business product owner for segmentation capabilities, managing the business backlog, MVP scope, requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritization of enhancements required to support segment delivery.
• Partner with Technology, Digital, Analytics, Channels, Operations, Risk, Marketing, Product, and Business Lines to clarify requirements, validate solution design, resolve delivery questions, and confirm capabilities meet agreed business, client, and employee outcomes.
• Support go-to-market readiness by coordinating launch requirements, channel impacts, frontline enablement, communications, training inputs, operational readiness, and adoption considerations.
• Synthesize client research, frontline feedback, market practices, performance trends, and business insights into design choices, journey improvements, personalization opportunities, and execution recommendations.
• Track segment-level performance, benefits, adoption, client and employee outcomes, and operational indicators to identify gaps, recommend actions, and support ongoing refinement of the model.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?  We'd love to work with you if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, economics, analytics, or a related field.
• +10 years’ experience in retail banking, channels, client experience, strategy, operations, transformation, performance management, or related financial services roles.
• Strong understanding of retail banking, channels, advice models, servicing, and operating practices.
• Demonstrated ability to translate approved enterprise strategy into practical business design, execution roadmaps, value propositions, go-to-market requirements, implementation plans, decision materials, and measurable outcomes.
• Experience acting as a business product owner or business lead for client, channel, digital, data, analytics, or operating model capabilities, including backlog management, requirements definition, prioritization, acceptance criteria, and solution validation.
• Experience using client insights, data, performance trends, financial outcomes, market practices, and employee feedback to inform design recommendations, execution priorities, benefits tracking, and continuous improvement.
• Experience supporting go-to-market readiness, journey optimization, initiative sequencing, prioritization, business case inputs, channel enablement, personalization, CRM or campaign capabilities, adoption tracking, and operating rhythms for complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Proven ability to lead complex execution through influence across senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams, creating alignment in ambiguous environments without direct authority over all contributors.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise executive-level recommendations, updates, and decision materials.
• Results-oriented, analytical, client-centric, collaborative, and comfortable balancing detailed business design, product ownership, cross-functional execution, governance support, benefits reporting, and practical issue resolution.
