Job Description:

Position Description: 

 

Executes hands-on software development and interacts with architecture, management and product owners to translate product requirements into cloud technology solutions. Confers with systems analysts and other software engineers/developers to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Develops and oversees software system tests and validation procedures, programs and documentation. Develops complex or multiple software applications and conducts studies of alternatives to translate divisional initiatives into business solutions. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.  

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

 

 

Education and Experience: 

 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing Java applications using Agile methodologies within a financial services environment. 

 

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing Java applications using Agile methodologies within a financial services environment.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
