Job Description

Purpose of the role

To manage change projects that help the organisation achieve its strategic objectives, while ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, in control and in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures. 

Accountabilities

• Management of change projects within the organisation, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Development and management of project plans that outline the scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements for change projects.
• Communication with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners, to ensure that they are informed about project progress and that their needs and expectations are being met.
• Management of project teams, ensuring that they are properly resourced and that they have the necessary skills and expertise to deliver on project objectives.
• Management of project budgets, ensuring that projects are delivered within the agreed budget.
• Creation of reports on project progress to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
• Management of project risks, ensuring that risk, assumptions, issues and dependencies are identified, assessed, and mitigated as necessary.
• Facilitation of change management activities, including training and communication, to ensure that change projects are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.

• OR for an individual contributor, they will be a subject matter expert within own discipline and will guide technical direction. They will lead collaborative, multi-year assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments. The TMO Implementation Lead plays a pivotal role within the Transformation Management Office (TMO), leading the successful mobilisation and execution of large-scale operating model and Enterprise Agile transformations across Barclays. Acting as the bridge between strategy and delivery, the role is responsible for developing and driving end-to-end implementation plans across people, processes, tooling, training, and governance. The coach ensures organisations are prepared for change by establishing implementation readiness, activating new ways of working, supporting operating model adoption, and aligning delivery with business priorities. Working closely with the TMO Lead, Agile Coaches, HR, Tooling and Training leads, the role also develops coaching capability, coordinates enablement activities, manages implementation risks and dependencies, and provides governance oversight. Through strong stakeholder engagement and structured execution, the Implementation Coach enables sustainable adoption of the target operating model and drives successful transformation outcomes.

To be successful as a TMO Implementation Lead some critical skills to have are:

• Proven experience leading large-scale Agile transformation and implementation programmes from planning through to successful delivery.
• Strong ability to manage senior stakeholders and influence decision-making across complex organisations.
• Expertise in developing implementation roadmaps, governance frameworks, risk management and delivery controls.
• Experience embedding new operating models, Agile ways of working and sustainable change across business functions.
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams to deliver strategic outcomes, drive adoption and realise business value.

Some other highly valued skills include:

• Experience establishing or operating within a Transformation Management Office (TMO), PMO or enterprise change function.
• Knowledge of Agile, SAFe, product operating models and large-scale organisational change frameworks. 
• Experience with portfolio, programme and implementation tooling such as Jira, Confluence or equivalent delivery platforms.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills with the ability to track implementation progress, risks and benefits realisation.
• Professional qualifications in Project Management, Change Management, Agile Delivery, or related disciplines.
