Inspection Manager

Context & Environment
This role is based on office in Kuala Lumpur. Some offshore trip will be required. Deals with stakeholders such as regulator, Petronas, Partners and Contractors
Activities
- To lead and manage all inspection-related activities on operating offshore oil and gas platforms, ensuring asset integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational safety. The role encompasses long-term inspection planning, budget oversight, contractor management, and technical leadership in inspection and corrosion control across topside and subsea assets.
- To supervise inspection activities of non-operating assets through close communication, follow up meeting and regular engagement with the Operator. Ensure alignment with Operator on decision making related to budget, inspection plan, status and mitigation works.
- Ensure compliance to Company’s safety requirement through awareness, clear communication and strong ownership of safety practices all parties.
- Manage and coordinate inspection activities to ensure compliance with TotalEnergies referential, project specifications, international codes standards and PETRONAS and regulatory requirement.
- Adopt and implement Offshore Self-Regulation Management System (OSRMS) for certificated machineries as required by PETRONAS and Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia.
- Lead the development and implementation of monitoring dashboard and key performance indicators (KPIs) to enable efficient oversight and performance tracking of inspection activities.
- Supervise and guide inspection personnel, ensuring proper execution of inspection plans.
- Implement and maintain Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) methodologies.
- Review and approve inspection reports and documentation.
- Prepare and manage the inspection and corrosion management budget.
- Identify and propose inspection scope optimization strategies including the application of derogation to support budget efficiency and cost-effective operations.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and third-party inspectors to resolve inspection-related issues.
- Manage inspection and corrosion monitoring contractors, ensuring performance, compliance, and safety
- Ensure timely reporting of inspection results and maintain accurate records.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to inspection engineers and technicians.
- Support quality assurance and control processes throughout the project lifecycle.
Candidate Profile
- Candidate must possess minimum of Degree in Engineering / Petroleum Engineering / System Support or any equivalent to related field.
- Minimum of 10 years (Degree) or 15 years (Diploma) or 20 years (Professional Certificate) of working experience in Oil & Gas Industry; managerial experience is preferred.
- Extensive experience in inspection activities within the oil & gas, or related industries, especially offshore facilities
- Have sound knowledge and experience on PETRONAS rules and regulation for offshore operation from asset integrity perspective (OSR-MS, PPGUA, PSMA, etc.)
- Experienced with Quality Management System Standards.
- Experience with auditing and inspection processes.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in leading and mentoring team.
