Description & Requirements
The EMEA Pitch-Pro, Transactional and Banking & Finance will lead on the management of pitch creation and relevant materials relating to proposals for the Transactional and Banking & Finance (“B&F”) Practice Groups, and be part of a wider pitch-pro community in EMEA. The role will report to the Regional PG lead for the Transactional PG. The individual will work closely with a number of key stakeholders across the business, including Partners, Associates, the Global Client Pursuits (“GCP”) team, Practice Group and Central BD teams.
Main responsibilities:
- Support and challenge legal teams on the decision to pursue opportunities
- Lead strategic pitches and pursuits in accordance with the Firm's best practice pitch process
- Develop compelling value propositions, differentiators and practice group messaging tailored to client needs
- Help to drive adoption, training, content development and continuous improvement for Pitch Point, our generative AI powered pitch creation platform
- Work closely with the GCP team, partners and BD colleagues on strategic opportunities, panel appointments and key client pursuits
- Develop and sharing pitch best practices, tools and resources across EMEA
- Track and reporting on pitch activity, outcomes and key trends, using insights to improve win rates and processes
- Coach, mentor and support BD colleagues on pursuit strategy and proposal development
- Organise presentation rehearsals and providing coaching on messaging, delivery and presentation skills
- Conduct client debriefs and capturing actionable feedback
Skills and experience:
- Educated to degree level and ideally with an additional business qualification / experience focusing on Business Development, Marketing, Communications, Sales or related commercial subjects
- Experienced in business development, in an international law firm or other professional/financial services environment
- Excellent communication skills; able to interact and influence at senior and various levels of the Firm
- Excellent written and spoken English, with strong writing skills; able to identify strong proposal messages
- An appreciation of, and experience of matrix management across multiple offices/countries
- A collegiate approach and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, management and leadership across EMEA and the Firm more widely
- A confident, calm and credible style with the ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple concurrent projects
- Able to manage multiple projects and stick to strict deadlines
- Respects and enjoys the diversity of cultural, social and academic backgrounds found in the Firm
Location: London, Brussels, Belfast, Stockholm, Frankfurt
Reports to: The EMEA BD Lead for the Transactional PG. You will also have a dotted reporting line to the EMEA BD Lead for the B&F PG and will have close operational working relationships with various BD colleagues across EMEA.
