What You'll Do

As a Working Student in the CE Applied AI Team, you will support the hands-on deployment of AI tools into real case team workflows, helping to translate concrete business needs into practical, lightweight AI-enabled solutions that improve day-to-day project work.
Your key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting AI tool deployment
  You will help configure and adapt AI tools for selected case teams, including setting up custom GPTs, assisting with prompt optimization, and supporting simple API-based integrations.
• Building and testing prototypes
  You will develop small prototypes and automations to test new use cases, iterate them based on feedback, and refine solutions into usable setups.
• Assisting with agent and workflow design
  You will contribute to the design and optimization of AI-supported workflows, including basic prompt engineering and structured experimentation with different tools.
• Providing operational support
  You will support consultants with technical questions, troubleshooting, and onboarding to AI-enabled workflows, ensuring smooth integration into project work.
• Exploring new GenAI capabilities
  You will test new AI features and tools and help assess their relevance for internal and case-related use cases.

What You'll Bring

• You are currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s or master’s program in computer science, data science, business informatics, or a related field.
• You have some experience with AI tools and workflows, ideally including API integrations and prompt engineering; experience with tools such as Claude, Cursor, or n8n is a plus.
• You have programming knowledge (Python, JavaScript, or similar)
• You have strong analytical skills and a keen interest in AI-driven process automation.
• You are fluent in English

YOU’RE GOOD AT

• You build before you polish. You default to “let me try it” instead of “let me research it.” You move fast, iterate quickly, and prefer a rough prototype today over a perfect plan next week. You have likely hacked together scripts or lightweight tools to automate something simply because it was faster to build than to wait.
• You are hands-on with Python, APIs, and LLMs. You do not need to be a senior engineer, but you can write a working Python script, call an API, and prompt an LLM effectively. Experience with tools such as Claude, Cursor, or n8n is a plus. What matters most is that you learn new tools quickly and apply them pragmatically.
• You bridge technology and business. You do more than code. You translate messy, ambiguous business problems into structured, automatable workflows. You are comfortable speaking with nontechnical stakeholders, clarifying what they actually need rather than just what they ask for, and delivering solutions that create tangible value.
• You are self-directed and dependable. With limited hours available, you make every session count. You absorb context quickly, work independently between check-ins, and communicate proactively when you are blocked or when you have delivered. You require minimal guidance and manage your time responsibly.
• You are genuinely curious about GenAI and its real-world impact. You experiment with AI tools in your own time, whether building agents, automating personal workflows, or testing what is possible. You see AI as a lever for step-change impact, not incremental improvement.

Who You'll Work With

You will work autonomously while staying in close alignment with the Applied AI Team and other key stakeholders driving AI adoption at BCG. You will work under the direction of the CE Applied AI Lead, who will provide strategic guidance and ensure a smooth onboarding experience. In addition, you will provide operational support for case teams, assisting with AI-driven workflow optimizations, remote troubleshooting, and hands-on AI tool configuration to ensure seamless integration into day-to-day project work.
