As our next Strategic Planning Director, you will be the pivotal leader responsible for co-developing cohesive 360-degree marketing and communication strategy and ensuring its flawless execution across departments. Your role will be instrumental in creating and managing a comprehensive strategic plan and calendar, leveraging in-depth market analysis and identifying key business opportunities. Your mission will be to ensure the orchestration of Brand Communication activities and to serve as a strategic bridge with the Product Marketing and Commercial teams, working collaboratively with the markets to ultimately enhance brand image and drive Maison’s priorities and business growth.
This role reports to the Brand Communication Director and is based in Milan.
Your impact
You will drive the development of the 360 yearly marketing and communication strategic planning
- Support the Brand Communication Director in translating the global Brand strategy into a 360-degree yearly marketing and communication strategic plan, designed to enhance brand image and drive business growth.
- Conduct in-depth market and competitor analysis to identify new opportunities, challenges, and client insights to feed and evolve the marketing strategy.
- Act as right hand of the Brand Communication Director, providing strategic guidance and serving as the main point of contact for product managers, commercial, client and retail teams, as well as market stakeholders, ensuring full alignment with strategic vision and business needs.
You will build the marketing and communication planning and calendar
- Provide strategic input and guidelines for the development of the brand calendar, ensuring all planned global and local initiatives are consistent with the overall strategy and business objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., creative production, activation, communication, press relations, commercial and product teams) to integrate the strategic vision into the brand communication plan and the product launch and core offer animation through the years, fostering synergy to ensure best in class go-to-market strategies.
- Ensure strategic alignment and coherence between HQ directives and market-specific implementations providing strategic framework for 360 activation plans.
You will orchestrate and coordinate the roll out of the strategy
- Coordinate the timely implementation of the annual strategic planning and brand calendar across the other HQ Brand Communication functions and the markets, ensuring global communication consistency and adaptability to emerging business opportunities and market nuances.
- Provide strategic oversight and support for the orchestration of global campaigns, ensuring that all efforts are aligned with strategic objectives and deliver maximum impact.
- Leverage strategic insights and performance data to identify, analyze, and promote the scalability of global best practices, while monitoring activation performance and evolving the brand calendar to capture business opportunities and adapt to market trends.
You will lead and develop a lean and high-performing strategic planning team
- Lead and develop a high-performing, expert, and agile Strategic Planning team, focused on strategic support for the marketing calendar and cross-functional collaboration.
- Inspire, mentor, and empower the strategic planning team, fostering professional development, growth, and engagement.
- Actively participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of strategic planning talent to build and sustain a world-class team.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or a related field.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in a similar position.
- Successful experience in strategic planning, brand communication, or marketing leadership roles, preferably within a global luxury brand environment.
- Proven track record in developing, evolving, and flawlessly executing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that drive brand and business growth
- Extensive experience in conducting in-depth market and competitor analysis, identifying key business opportunities, and translating corporate strategic planning into clear, actionable marketing communication strategies.
- Deep understanding of strategic planning methodologies, market analysis, consumer insights, and brand building principles.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data and insights into clear, actionable strategies and communicate them effectively to diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with a strong ability to connect strategic vision to operational execution.
- Strong business acumen and a proactive ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities and mitigate risks and ensure global strategic consistency.
- Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to influence, align, and orchestrate stakeholders at all levels across different departments and markets, particularly fostering strong collaboration and synergy between Marketing Communication, Product and Commercial teams.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage complex strategic planning cycles and brand calendar.
- A proactive, results-oriented mindset and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and complex global environment.
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages like Italian and French are a plus.
