As a Retail Consultant, you are the face of Aesop and the primary link between our products and our customers. Your mission is to deliver a personalized and memorable customer experience. While combining expert product knowledge with genuine curiosity and attentive consultation, you help customers discover products that meet their individual needs. Through meaningful conversations and a deep understanding of our formulations and philosophy, you will support customers in making informed choices while fostering long-term relationships with the brand. In our retail environment, you will play an essential role in driving commercial success, maintaining operational excellence, and ensuring that every customer interaction reflects Aesop's commitment to quality, care, and exceptional service.
Your Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Experience & Sales Excellence
- Exceptional Service: Welcome every customer with warmth, professionalism, and genuine care, creating meaningful experiences that reflect Aesop's values and commitment to thoughtful service.
- Expert Advice: Conduct personalized consultations across skincare, haircare, body care, and fragrance to understand customer needs and recommend tailored solutions and routines.
- Retail Performance: Contribute to individual and store KPIs through authentic customer engagement, proactive product recommendations, and the development of long-term customer relationships.
- Brand Storytelling: Act as a true Aesop ambassador, confidently sharing the philosophy, history, and unique qualities of our formulations while bringing the brand to life through every interaction.
2. Operational & Retail Management
- Merchandising Excellence: Ensure the store consistently reflects Aesop's visual merchandising and presentation standards, maintaining an inviting, organized, and detail-oriented environment.
- Stock Management: Support stock replenishment, inventory counts, delivery processing, and stock accuracy to ensure strong product availability and smooth daily operations.
- Tester & Hygiene Standards: Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene for products, testers, tools, and customer-facing spaces, ensuring a safe and elevated experience for every visitor.

Skills & Qualifications
- Previous retail experience is required, preferably within premium, luxury, beauty, or hospitality environments.
- Strong customer service and sales skills, with the ability to build trust and create long-term customer relationships.
- The ability to speak Dutch is considered a plus. A good command of English is required, and additional languages are an advantage given the international nature of our customer base.
- A strong interest in skincare, fragrance, and wellbeing, with a willingness to continuously develop product and brand knowledge.
- Experience in consultation-based selling is highly valued.
