Purpose of Job

 


The Principal will develop, manage, and deliver donor-funded Technical Cooperation (TCs) on Gender Equality and Human Capital (GEHC) activities related to EBRD’s Investments in SEMED (Morocco and Tunisia), in close cooperation with the Regional Policy Lead (RPL) and with VP3’s regional and sectoral pillars.  Under the overall guidance of the Associate Director, G&EI Infra and Energy, and working in close cooperation with G&EI colleagues across all three pillars as well as other departments under the VP3 and the Banking department in RO, the Principal will lead and coordinate the Human Capital, Skills, Gender and Economic Inclusion activities in relation to access to skills and employment, access to finance and entrepreneurship and access to services. The Principal will support the Banking team in designing and implementing donor-funded TCs for EBRD’s client, enhancing social outcomes for projects in Morocco and Tunisia.  They will also lead policy engagement for inclusive and gender-equitable policy reforms in the region, in close collaboration with the Regional Policy Lead team, which support the design and implementation of inclusion-related policy dialogue with key stakeholders in the region – governments, regulators, the private sector, and other relevant international institutions – to advise on Human Capital, Skills, Gender and Inclusion reforms and help coordinate policy, technical, and financial assistance.

 

 

 

Background

 


The Principal is part of the Regional Policy and Strategy (RPS) team. The RPS team designs and delivers, in close coordination with PSD, CSD and Banking teams, the Bank’s policy agenda in each of its countries of operations. They will have a strong content focus in Human Capital, Skills, Gender and Inclusion, and work closely with the GEI experts based across Headquarter and RO (matrix management). G&EI is part of the Vice Presidency for Policy and Partnerships, and within that the Policy and Strategy Delivery department (PSD). PSD consists of approximately 140 staff that support technical assistance and policy engagement across the Bank’s transition qualities (except for green), political assessments, country strategy development and economic assessments as well as to support the Bank’s compliance with Article 1.
