Job Description:

What’s the role

The Asset Integrity Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the effectiveness of the Pressure Equipment Integrity Management system to minimize process safety and reliability risks at Scotford. The role focuses on static equipment, inspection, corrosion, materials, and civil engineering, while providing technical leadership across these disciplines. This includes implementing programs that maintain equipment integrity and reliability, as well as guiding subject matter experts in inspection, corrosion and materials, static equipment, and civil engineering to support safe, efficient, and profitable operations. In addition, the position upholds technical competency within these engineering communities and delivers project discipline support in both static and civil areas.

Beyond operational oversight, the role contributes strategic mechanical and civil engineering support across Scotford’s key production assets, including the Upgrader, Refinery, and Chemicals units. It plays a critical role in shaping mid- to long-term investment decisions by influencing both capital and operational expenditures related to static and civil assets. Acting as the gatekeeper for strategic funding through the SEAM process, the Asset Integrity Manager coordinates closely with the PET leadership team to manage demand and prioritize work. The position also leads a team of 9–14 engineers and contractors, manages the OPEX budget to ensure financial alignment, supports informed capital portfolio decisions through technical guidance, and maintains regulatory compliance through engagement with the Alberta Boiler Safety Authority.
