Job Role
The Data Privacy Champion will play a critical role in ensuring that our organization adheres to legal frameworks and regulations within the European Union. This role involves translating complex laws and regulations into actionable strategies, implementing safeguarding processes, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure compliance and data protection across the organization.
What you will do
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of EU legal frameworks, including GDPR and EU Act, and other relevant data protection regulations;
- Translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical implications and actionable plans for the organization;
- Monitor changes in legislation and update internal processes accordingly;
- Define, implement , conduct and supervise control activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and data protection;
- Work closely with various safeguarding functions, including IT, Legal, and Risk Management, to ensure cohesive compliance efforts;
- Collaborate with Group Centers, use case owners, and developers to integrate compliance measures into business operations and projects;
- Leverage a solid understanding of IT and AI knowledge to identify and mitigate potential data protection risks associated with technology use;
- Collaborate with IT and stakeholders teams to ensure that AI technological solutions adhere to compliance standards and best practices;
- Support the deployment of awareness campaigns and trainings;
- Prepare and present reports on compliance status, risks, and mitigation strategies to senior management.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of EU legal frameworks, particularly GDPR.
- Proven experience in defining and implementing safeguarding processes.
- Solid understanding of IT and AI technologies and their implications for data protection.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Minimum 5 years (corporate) business experience
- Interest in Data Privacy is a must; experience in Data Privacy (& associated management tools) desirable
- Experience in an international working environment highly desirable
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); other languages are a bonus
- Competency in MS Office, Sharepoint and ServiceNow.

- Solid communication skills (written/ spoken) to different hierarchies, incl. excellent presentation skills (in person and virtual);
- Project management mindset with strong organizational skills: ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, maintain tracking systems (tickets, registries), and ensure follow-ups .
- Ability to simplify complex topics also for non-experts, manage various interests and steer discussions to a desired end;
- Ability to work independently as well as engaging with various stakeholders in virtual teams across various continents and cultures;
- Active discussion and collaboration partner for service providers as part of the value chain, ensuring good vendor relations, continuous improvement and smooth service delivery;
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, hands on mentality with capability to deliver results;
- Good assertiveness and organizational skills, capable of dealing with multiple priorities.
