What is the Opportunity?

The Manager, AML Compliance and MLRO RBC Royal Bank N.V. delivers a comprehensive range of AML Compliance activities to Business Units in St. Maarten and Saba. These activities include developing and maintaining expertise in AML Compliance and supporting other AML activities within the wider Caribbean Banking Compliance Team to sustain the full accountabilities of Caribbean Banking Compliance. The Manager, AML Compliance supports the Senior Manager, Dutch Caribbean and Trinidad and contributes to the business priorities by being accountable for implementing and maintaining the approved AML Compliance program in a manner that would provide reasonable assurance to senior management that the business complies with governing in-region regulations and with internal policies and procedures.

What will you do?

• Responsible for managing and evaluating on an ongoing basis, the implementation and effectiveness of the AML Compliance Program and providing accurate reporting to the In-Market Business Unit management, the Board of Directors and the Senior Manager, Dutch Caribbean and Trinidad.
• Monitor advancements/amendments of applicable laws and regulations affecting the Business Units' activities and operations and ensure timely adaptation and compliance.
• Proactively prepare analytical summary reports for senior management of regulatory AML initiatives or AML proposals which may impact the business as well as an Impact assessment to outline the possible implications that any regulatory AML initiatives or AML proposals may have.
• Ensure AML/CFT Program is consistent with all legislative requirements and guidelines and with Group policies and in so doing, participate in inter alia, client reviews and approvals and oversight testing of outsourced processes.
• Complete and file all AML/CFT reports to the Designated/Regulatory Authority as required.
• Timely submission of Information to correspondent banking partners and regulators including money laundering authorities as formally and legally requested (questionnaires, national risk assessments, court orders, production requests and production orders etc.)
• Identify and offer mitigating strategies relating to areas of potential risk in process development.
• Responsible for the drafting and at least annual maintenance and version tracking of addenda to Group Compliance policies for St. Maarten and Saba.

Must-have

• College or University Degree
• Minimum 5 years’ experience at a supervisory level within the financial services industry
• An internationally recognized AML Certification such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or equivalent

 Nice-to-have

• Knowledge of Anti Money Laundering and financial services regulations in the St. Maarten and Saba
