Fund Connect Digital Assets and Tokenization Product Lead, Vice President

Who We Are Looking For 

We are seeking a Vice President to join the Fund Connect team and lead the development and commercialization of digital-asset capabilities, with a particular focus on the tokenization of real-world assets. 

This role is ideal for an experienced product, strategy, or digital-transformation professional with a strong understanding of institutional financial services, asset servicing, cash and liquidity management, and emerging digital technologies. The successful candidate will help shape and deliver Fund Connect’s strategy for providing institutional clients with access to both traditional and tokenized investment products through a unified platform. 

The Vice President will work closely with senior leaders and partners across Product, Technology, Operations, Sales, Relationship Management, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and other State Street businesses. The role will also engage with asset managers, transfer agents, digital custodians, wallet providers, blockchain networks, fintech firms, and other external market participants. 

The ideal candidate will combine hands-on product management experience, strong commercial judgment, and a practical understanding of blockchain, tokenization, digital wallets, digital cash, and tokenized investment products. Experience with traditional asset-servicing products and operating models, including money market funds, transfer agency, custody, cash management, collateral management, or fund administration, is highly desirable.

Fund Connect is expanding its capabilities to support the convergence of traditional finance and digital markets. Our vision is to provide clients with a unified solution for managing digital and traditional short-term investments. 

This position will play a pivotal role in advancing Fund Connect’s digital-asset strategy and translating emerging technologies into scalable, controlled, and commercially viable client solutions. The role will initially focus on tokenized money market funds and related digital infrastructure, while helping establish a foundation that can support the broader tokenization of real-world assets. 

The Vice President will contribute to the development of solutions involving: 

• Tokenized money market funds and other tokenized investment products 

• Digital representations of real-world assets 

• Institutional digital wallets and custody solutions 

• Public and private blockchain connectivity 

• Digital transfer agency and tokenization services 

• Stablecoins and tokenized deposits 

• On-chain settlement and transaction reporting 

• Tokenized assets used for collateral and liquidity management 

• Digital capabilities for Fund Connect’s white-label clients 

• Integration of digital and traditional investment workflows 

This is an opportunity to help define the next generation of institutional fund distribution, liquidity management, and digital-asset infrastructure. 

What You Will Be Responsible For Strategy and Execution 

As Vice President, you will: 

• Support the continued development and execution of Fund Connect’s digital-asset and tokenization strategy. 

• Translate the strategy into a prioritized product roadmap, delivery plan, and measurable business outcomes. 

• Identify opportunities for Fund Connect to support the issuance, distribution, trading, settlement, custody, and reporting of tokenized real-world assets. 

• Conduct market, client, regulatory, and competitive analysis to inform product direction and investment decisions. 

• Develop strategic recommendations for senior management regarding new digital products, partnerships, and market opportunities. 

• Promote a coordinated, enterprise-wide approach by working across relevant State Street businesses and functional areas. 

• Monitor developments in tokenization, blockchain infrastructure, digital custody, digital cash, decentralized finance, and institutional adoption. 

Product Management and Development 

• Lead day-to-day product activities for Fund Connect’s digital-asset capabilities from concept through implementation and commercialization. 

• Define product requirements, use cases, workflows, client journeys, and operating models for tokenized products. 

• Partner with Product Development, Technology, Architecture, Operations, and external providers to define and deliver product capabilities. 

• Develop solutions that allow clients to access traditional and tokenized investments through an integrated Fund Connect experience. 

• Support integration with tokenized fund providers, transfer agents, digital asset platforms, wallet providers, custodians, and blockchain infrastructure. 

• Define requirements for digital order routing, transaction processing, settlement, position reporting, wallet connectivity, and client servicing. 

• Coordinate product testing, operational readiness, implementation, and post-launch reviews. 

• Maintain product documentation, decision logs, business requirements, workflow diagrams, and implementation materials. 

• Ensure that solutions are scalable, resilient, interoperable, and aligned with Fund Connect’s broader product architecture. 

Tokenization and Real-World Asset Solutions 

• Lead the definition of Fund Connect use cases involving the tokenization of real-world assets. 

• Develop institutional workflows for subscribing to, redeeming, transferring, settling, and reporting tokenized fund interests. 

• Evaluate digital-native issuance models and digital-twin models representing existing financial assets. 

• Explore opportunities to expand Fund Connect’s capabilities beyond tokenized money market funds into other appropriate tokenized securities and investment products. 

• Assess how tokenized assets may support corporate treasury, investment, liquidity, and collateral-management use cases. 

• Partner with internal teams to evaluate the use of tokenized deposits, stablecoins, or other approved forms of digital cash for settlement. 

• Help define the role of digital wallets, custody services, digital transfer agents, smart contracts, and public or permissioned blockchains within the Fund Connect ecosystem. 

• Support the development of controls for the movement of tokenized assets between clients, providers, custodians, and approved networks. 

Client and Stakeholder Engagement 

• Engage with institutional clients to identify needs, validate use cases, and obtain feedback on proposed digital capabilities. 

• Partner with Sales, Relationship Management, and senior product leaders during client discussions and product demonstrations. 

• Explain complex digital-asset concepts in clear, practical, and commercially relevant language. 

• Prepare client-ready materials, product presentations, workflow diagrams, and strategic proposals. 

• Lead discovery sessions with asset managers, treasury organizations, white-label clients, and other institutional market participants. 

• Provide clear product updates and recommendations to senior management and governance forums. 

• Establish strong working relationships across multiple regions, businesses, and functional disciplines. 

Commercialization and Business Management 

• Develop business cases for new digital assets and tokenization initiatives. 

• Assess client demand, addressable opportunities, implementation requirements, and potential commercial models. 

• Support pricing, financial analysis, revenue planning, and go-to-market activity. 

• Evaluate build, buy, or partner options for required digital capabilities. 

• Conduct due diligence on external technology providers, custody providers, wallet providers, blockchain networks, and other strategic partners. 

• Partner with Sales and Relationship Management to identify pilot clients and commercialization opportunities. 

• Define product adoption measures and track progress against agreed business objectives. 

• Support development of the long-term operating and support model for Fund Connect’s digital products. 

Risk, Regulatory, and Governance 

• Work closely with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Information Security, Privacy, and Operational Risk teams throughout the product lifecycle. 

• Support new-product approval, risk assessment, control design, and regulatory review activities. 

• Help identify and document risks associated with tokenization, blockchain networks, digital wallets, custody models, settlement assets, and external vendors. 

• Ensure that product requirements incorporate appropriate controls, client protections, governance, and recordkeeping. 

• Monitor relevant regulatory developments and assess their potential impact on product design and delivery. 

• Support the development of policies, procedures, and governance materials for digital-asset products. 

• Escalate material risks, dependencies, and delivery issues to the appropriate stakeholders. 

Operational and Cross-Functional Delivery 

• Coordinate delivery across Product, Technology, Operations, Client Service, Sales, Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Finance. 

• Design scalable operating models that integrate digital products with existing Fund Connect processes and infrastructure. 

• Identify operational dependencies and help define responsibilities across internal teams and external service providers. 

• Develop implementation plans, readiness criteria, support procedures, and escalation paths. 

• Manage interdependent initiatives involving multiple businesses, technology platforms, and market participants. 

• Drive resolution of complex product, process, and implementation issues. 

• Maintain clear communication regarding status, decisions, risks, dependencies, and required actions. 

Engagement and Thought Leadership 

• Represent Fund Connect in selected industry working groups, client events, conferences, and market forums. 

• Develop informed perspectives on tokenized funds, real-world assets, institutional digital custody, digital cash, and blockchain-based financial-market infrastructure. 

• Contribute to external-facing presentations, articles, white papers, and educational materials. 

• Help position Fund Connect and State Street as leaders in institutional digital-asset innovation. 

• Build relationships with relevant industry organizations, infrastructure providers, asset managers, technology companies, and market participants. 

• Share market intelligence and emerging practices with internal stakeholders. 

Team and Global Collaboration 

• Work collaboratively with colleagues across regions to promote global consistency while addressing local market and regulatory requirements. 

• Provide leadership and subject-matter expertise to cross-functional project teams. 

• Mentor and guide junior colleagues as the digital-asset business grows.

What We Value 

These skills will help you succeed in this role: 

• Strong product-management, product-development, or strategy experience within institutional financial services. 

• Practical understanding of tokenization, blockchain technology, smart contracts, digital wallets, and digital-asset infrastructure. 

• Knowledge of real-world asset tokenization and the associated issuance, distribution, custody, settlement, and servicing lifecycle. 

• Experience with money market funds, investment funds, transfer agency, custody, fund administration, cash management, liquidity management, or collateral management.

• Strong commercial awareness and experience preparing business cases, product strategies, and go-to-market plans.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience 

• Ten or more years of experience in financial services, fintech, capital markets, transaction banking, asset servicing, or a related field. 

• Demonstrated experience in product management, product strategy, digital transformation, or complex program delivery. 

• Experience with institutional digital assets, tokenized funds, blockchain-based financial products, or real-world asset tokenization. 

• Working knowledge of public and permissioned blockchain networks. 

• Understanding of digital custody, wallet infrastructure, tokenization platforms, and digital transfer agency. 

• Familiarity with stablecoins, tokenized deposits, on-chain settlement, and digital collateral use cases. 

• Experience working with asset managers, banks, custodians, transfer agents, corporate treasury teams, or institutional investors. 

• Knowledge of product-governance, operational-risk, regulatory, and compliance requirements within a global financial institution. 

• Experience assessing external vendors, fintech firms, or strategic technology partners. 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Economics, Business, Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline. 

• Relevant postgraduate or professional qualifications are beneficial but not required. 

Success Measures 

Success in this role will include: 

• Delivery of a clear and actionable Fund Connect digital-asset product roadmap. 

• Progression of tokenized investment products from concept through approval, implementation, and client adoption. 

• Establishment of scalable integrations with relevant digital-asset ecosystem participants. 

• Development of controlled operating models for digital-asset trading, settlement, custody, and reporting. 

• Strong engagement with clients, internal stakeholders, and strategic partners. 

• Effective management of product, technology, operational, regulatory, and commercial dependencies. 

• Clear contribution to Fund Connect’s positioning as a unified platform for traditional and tokenized investments.
