We are looking for a full-time Senior Mobile Developer (iOS & Android) to help shape the next generation of mobile bank applications for Nordea’s private and corporate customers. About our team

You will be part of Team Fortress, an end‑to‑end product team responsible for Loans solutions. The team owns the full delivery chain – from customer‑facing experiences to backend services. We work across native mobile development (iOS and Android), web applications, and backend microservices, ensuring high‑quality, secure, and scalable solutions. Collaboration is at the heart of how we work, partnering closely with stakeholders and teams across countries to continuously evolve our services and meet our customers’ changing needs.

About this opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Mobile Android Developer with strong experience in both iOS and Android development. We are passionate about creating great products for our digital platform, if you are as well, then interested in joining us on this journey?

What you’ll be doing:

• You will be a key member of our team, working in an end‑to‑end setup across platforms
• Design, build and continuously improve Nordea’s iOS and Android mobile banking applications
• Contribute to architectural decisions and ensure best practices in coding and security
• You are expected to take ownership of the code in your service area and ensure quality of the implementation, including test automation
• Be involved throughout the full development lifecycle: planning, design, development, testing, and support of our digital banking solutions
• Put customer needs at the center and, together with business stakeholders, drive the best possible solutions where your engineering input is key
• Actively participate in our technology communities, including developer days, innovation sprints, and knowledge‑sharing initiatives
• Collaborate closely with other developers, test specialists, architects, service designers, and business stakeholders

Depending on your interest and skills, you can do contributions to the frontend & backend sides. We are end-to-end team on all platforms. This role is based in Helsinki and we follow hybrid model of working (60 % onsite).

Who you are

This is the right role for you if you are enthusiast about coding, quality and creating new features. You want to take an ownership of larger entities, and you take pride in the deliveries you make.

Your experience and background:

• Several years of experience in mobile application development, with proven large-scale project deliveries and strong expertise in either iOS or Android, complemented by solid experience in the other platform.

• Strong experience with unit testing and automated UI testing on mobile platforms

• iOS: XCTest, unit testing, mocking, and test automation

• Android: unit testing and automated UI tests

• Solid understanding of mobile architectural patterns such as MVVM, VIPER, or similar

• Strong proficiency in Swift (including advanced concepts) and good understanding of Objective‑C and Swift-Objective‑C interoperability

• Strong proficiency in Kotlin for Android development

• Hands-on experience with programmatic UI development and layout systems: UIKit with Auto Layout on iOS, and Compose as well as XML-based layouts with Fragments on Android

• Experience with modular design, dependency management, and scalable mobile codebases

• Solid understanding of consuming REST APIs, handling asynchronous operations, concurrency, and background processing

• Experience working with secure, high‑quality mobile applications where performance, stability, and security are critical

• Payment or banking domain experience is considered a strong plus

It would be ideal if you also:

• Are familiar with web frontend technologies such as Angular, TypeScript, and JavaScript, enabling better collaboration and alignment across mobile and web platforms
• Enjoy working across platforms and contributing to a consistent user experience and technical approach throughout the Nordea digital ecosystem
