Job Summary

The Manager, NNM CoE is an individual contributor responsible for executing and coordinating assigned governance, operational and oversight activities for CIB non-vendor relationships and Nostro accounts. Reporting directly to the Head of NNM CoE, the role supports and executes accurate, timely and controlled delivery across establishment, maintenance, review and closure activities.


The role follows approved policies, procedures and service standards, applying established controls for workflow execution, information quality, evidence retention, ageing, exception management, escalation and management information across assigned activities.


The role coordinates and executes activities spanning onboarding and account opening, amendments, periodic reviews, renewals, service and account oversight, monitoring, reassessments, exception resolution, offboarding and closure.


The role applies sound judgement within defined parameters, works collaboratively with stakeholders and demonstrates leadership through personal accountability, dependable delivery, constructive challenge, knowledge sharing and support to colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
• Support implementation of NNM CoE priorities by delivering assigned process, control, data and technology activities.
• Identify operational impacts arising from changes in policies, standards, systems and procedures and raise them to the appropriate owner.
• Follow approved service-catalogue requirements, process flows and Departmental Operating Instructions in day-to-day delivery.
• Recommend practical improvements to simplify work, improve data quality and reduce manual monitoring, reconciliation and reporting.
• Track assigned service, control and quality outcomes and escalate delivery risks or constraints promptly.

Business
• Monitor agreed service measures covering volumes, ageing, turnaround time, quality, control outcomes and exceptions for assigned activities.
• Maintain effective working relationships with responsible owners, Operations, risk and control functions, service-delivery teams and support functions.
• Prepare accurate and timely management information on overdue actions, control gaps, unresolved exceptions and operational risks.
• Communicate service requirements and stakeholder responsibilities clearly.
• Resolve routine service issues within assigned scope and escalate complex, material or cross-functional matters.

Processes
• Execute assigned non-vendor relationship establishment, maintenance and exit activities, including intake, due diligence support, workflow tracking, reviews, renewals, evidence validation and record completion.
• Execute assigned activities across the Nostro account lifecycle, including opening, activation, amendments, maintenance, periodic review, monitoring and closure.
• Check account documentation, mandates, authorised signatories, services, settlement instructions, static data and approvals for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain accurate records of account ownership, purpose, status, entity and currency coverage, services, review dates, exceptions and outstanding actions.

• Perform reconciliations and data-quality checks and track identified exceptions to closure.
• Perform established CoE controls for completeness, approval tracking, evidence retention, ageing, exception management and closure assurance.
• Maintain process records and highlight required updates to operating instructions, process flows and escalation routes.
• Support testing and implementation of approved process, control, system and regulatory changes.

Expertise & Capability
• Apply sound working knowledge of NNM CoE processes, controls, evidence standards and service requirements.
• Demonstrate leadership through accountability, clear communication, constructive challenge and reliable execution.
• Share knowledge and provide practical peer support within area of experience.
• Check own work and assigned peer outputs for completeness and accuracy where requested.
• Coordinate assigned tasks and dependencies and raise conflicts or delays promptly.
• Support onboarding, cross-training and knowledge transfer.
• Contribute ideas for process improvement and automation.

Risk Management
• Identify, record and escalate operational, control and third-party risk issues in accordance with documented requirements.
• Perform assigned preventive and detective controls for Nostro accounts, including completeness, accuracy, authorisation, status and system-record checks.
• Perform reconciliation controls in accordance with documented methodology, frequency, evidence and escalation requirements.

• Challenge incomplete, inconsistent or unsupported information and escalate unresolved matters.
• Track control failures, repeated exceptions, overdue activities and unresolved dependencies to closure.
• Maintain complete records, evidence and documented decisions to support audit readiness.
• Protect the confidentiality, integrity and appropriate use of data and control information in accordance with Bank standards.

Governance
• Work within the approved governance framework and follow applicable policies, standards, procedures and service commitments.
• Prepare data and inputs for operational, risk and management forums when required.
• Maintain accurate information on service performance, control outcomes, ageing, reconciliation exceptions and outstanding actions.
• Support consistent implementation of Departmental Operating Instructions, process flows and service-catalogue requirements.
• Confirm roles and required actions with relevant stakeholders and seek clarification where accountability is unclear.
• Escalate overdue, repeated, complex or material issues to the relevant chain.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in banking, finance, operations, risk management or a related discipline.
• Training: Relevant training in third-party risk, operational risk and controls, account management, process governance, data quality or service management is desirable.
• Licenses: No mandatory licence required, subject to local regulatory requirements.
• Membership: Professional membership is desirable but not mandatory.
• Certifications: Relevant risk, controls, operations, project, process-improvement or service-management certification is desirable but not mandatory.
• Languages: Fluent written and spoken English; additional language capability is advantageous where relevant to the portfolio.
