As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Allianz, you will be integral to the technology solutions lifecycle, participating in design, automation, deployment, and support. You will be part of a team transitioning a mission-critical data exchange platform from a legacy mainframe environment to a modern, AWS-based cloud architecture. You will focus on the stability, automation and operational excellence of the platform, while leveraging your development background to analyze and resolve complex issues within the backend. Your role will involve collaborating with cross functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operational efficiency, while adhering to security and compliance standards.
What you do
- Manage and maintain a workflow engine, which transforms and routes data between internal Allianz systems and external partners.
- Implement and manage robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to enhance deployment speed and reliability.
- Orchestrate and support the AWS environment, including Kubernetes, PostgreSQL and network management.
- Use Dynatrace to perform deep-dive analysis in distributed systems to ensure high performance and stability.
- Act as a technical owner for operational issues, coordinating with developers and external clients to ensure seamless data transfer.
- Ensure all cloud-native solutions adhere to Allianz Information Security and compliance standards.
What you bring
- Proficiency in both English and German (at least B2 level) is mandatory, as the role involves direct contact with German-speaking stakeholders and clients.
- Strong experience with AWS services, specifically Aurora, VPC, EC2 EKS (Kubernetes), S3, SQS, SNS and RDS as well as proven experience with Terraform for managing cloud environments.
- Advanced knowledge of Docker, Helm, Git, Java (> 21), Spring Boot, GitHub Actions. Argo-Workflows is optional.
- Solid understanding of Java and Spring Boot to assist in troubleshooting and optimizing backend microservices with experience with Dynatrace (ideally within an Allianz context).
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Informatics, or a related field.
- An adaptable, "Ops-focused" professional who is willing to take ownership of the application's stability and lifecycle.
- Infrastructure knowledge in Terraform, OCI registries, Istio, Postgres, ServiceNow. Special knowledge (optional): AGN Ingress Weblayer, Allianz CRP 2.0 Dedicated Cluster.
- Machine learning knowledge is a strong advantage.
