BNY is seeking a seasoned Solutions Architect to drive the delivery of high-quality architectural solutions; streamline and modernize platforms; and tightly integrate architecture practices with software development lifecycles. The role will also pioneer AI-assisted architecture design approaches to increase speed, consistency, and quality across platforms and products. This position is central to delivering on BNY’s strategic pillars—Be More for our Clients, run our Company Better, and Power our Culture—by embedding high-quality architecture into delivery workflows and enabling teams with pragmatic, measurable guidance. This role is in either Lake Mary FL or Pittsburgh PA.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
Responsible for the delivery of high-quality architectural solutions, while ensuring compliance with company policies.
Strategize and contribute to enterprise level technological initiatives on architectures, patterns and standards.
Integrate architecture with SDLC: Embed architects and patterns into developer workflows (epics, code reviews, pipelines, automated gates) to enable “governance by design” and reduce late-stage rework.
Define and implement architecture and design in accordance with architecture principles. Adheres to established architecture methodologies and standards and ensures compliance with company policy.
Identify organization-wide initiatives and make recommendations for the use of technology. Works closely with senior management to educate and to articulate resource requirements necessary to promote architecture goals.
Perform enterprise planning and designing solutions for emerging business and complex technology environments. Identifies and recommends ways to drive more value out of the company's technology assets.
Design stable and flexible high-performance solutions, maximizing reuse and avoiding redundancy. Works with other stakeholders in optimizing architecture solutions. Contribute to the achievement of multiple teams' objectives
Champion AI-assisted design: Evaluate and pilot AI-driven tools for pattern recommendation, design validation, risk identification, and documentation generation; define safe, compliant usage patterns and measurable benefits.
Oversee architecture activities of the organization to assure the strategic goals of the organization are met. Work toward architecture and design solutions. Influence strategic roadmaps: Consult on platform and product strategies, ensuring architectural choices align with business priorities, operational resilience, and cost optimization.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. Advanced degree preferred.
10-12 years of experience in technology and architecture roles required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus. Expertise in modern architecture domains: cloud-native (AWS/Azure/GCP), microservices, APIs, event-driven designs, data platforms, security architecture, and reliability engineering (SRE).
Proven experience making architecture executable: IaC (e.g., Terraform), policy-as-code (e.g., OPA), CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions/Jenkins/Azure DevOps), automated quality/security gates, and reference implementations.
