About Business line/Function: 

The Global Markets business of BNP Paribas helps its corporate and institutional clients leverage capital markets across the globe for their financing, risk management and investment needs. This encompasses a wide range of financial products ranging from foreign exchange to complex Equity Derivatives that are traded in financial markets across the globe 24/7. IT systems are integral to the business and are a key part of the value proposition to clients. These IT systems range from industry standard products for standard process automation to internally developed, often, market leading IT applications. The IT teams owning these IT systems are made up of functions that include Technical and Application production support, Business Analysis & Project Management, Development & Maintenance and Quality Control. BNP Paribas India Solutions is an equal partner in these IT functions along with colleagues in other locations including Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore & Hong Kong. This partnership ranges from sharing the IT workload, executing global strategy to owning global applications offshore. The technology and engineering landscape is wide, encompassing almost all techniques and platforms. It continues to evolve and transform with the market with the business continuing to invest in it.

 FX Plus is a worldwide platform that provides FX rates for international payments. The FX products include live rates, guaranteed rates and pre-negotiated rates. FX Plus has feature-rich and real-time pricing capabilities that create a win-win situation for BNP Paribas and its corporate and retail clients with more FX choices at better rates. FX Plus covers APAC, Middle East and Europe, North America regions.

 FX Plus currently has two major ambitions:

· Expansion into new BNP Paribas Group territories, domestic banks and payment processing providers

· Introduce new product offerings such as exotic currencies and API products

The FX Plus IT team is recruiting for a highly motivated, hands-on Senior Developer who will be a team player in delivering FX Plus technical change in support of these ambitions.

Position Purpose: 

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Technical Manager with a strong background in development. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of software development methodologies, project management best practices, and technologies. The candidate will oversee the entire SDLC development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery. Responsibilities include working on technical projects within the vertical, project planning and tracking, reporting, and resolving technical challenges. The candidate will provide oversight and ownership across teams. Will work in a globally distributed setup, acting as a first among equals in the technology space.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

• Lead software development projects from inception to deployment, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Handle and lead development/design projects
• Works as technical team lead and cross teams for technical/functional solution.
• Establish regular code reviews tied to on-going components / projects development
• Owner of technical projects including planning, tracking and implementation.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders, to ensure that project requirements are clearly defined and understood.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets, and track progress against these plans as required.
• Identify and manage project risks and issues, and develop contingency plans as needed.
• Ensure that project deliverables meet the required quality standards, and that all project documentation is complete and up-to-date.
• Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and senior management, and provide regular project status reports.
• Mentor and coach team members and provide guidance and support as needed.
• Stay up to date with the latest relevant technologies and development methodologies, and apply this knowledge to improve project delivery.
• Propose/Review/Challenge Application Architecture and Design.
• Lead automation and guide teams to align with shift left and shift right strategy by encouraging a mindset for automation first and reduce recursive manual efforts
• Hands on and lead by example.
• Resolve performance bottlenecks

• Strong hands-on experience Core Java, J2EE, Spring framework, Spring Boot, Angular/RxJS, Typescript/Javascript,Open API, Log4J, , SQL (basic queries, data model, indexation)
• Strong hands-on knowledge on backend technologies
• Experience on Kubernetes, Microservices, Distributed Databases
• Practical experience on scalability, reliability, and stability of the application
• Architecturally enhancing / Re-designing applications which are already live.
• Experience of working with build tools like Maven & DevOps tools like Bitbucket, Git, Jenkins, SonarQube.
• Strong experience of Agile, Scrum, DevOps.
• Development experience of MVC Architecture based web applications, including creation of Web Services (RESTful APIs/ SOAP Services).
• Ability & willingness to learn & work on diverse technologies (languages, frameworks, and tools).
• Self-motivated, good interpersonal skills and inclination to constantly upgrade on new technologies and frameworks
• Interest in application modernization and continuous improvement.
• Prior exposure to systems involved in the FX execution part of the payments chain.
• Experience working with Containers, Kubernetes, Helm, etc.
• Experience working with Apache Kafka.
