Purpose of the role

To participate in the day-to-day activities of the Capital Markets division providing insights and expertise that help senior colleagues make informed decisions, develop new products and services, and identify new market opportunities.

Why the Capital Markets Graduate Programme?

In Capital Markets the Investment Banking team work with their clients to raise capital and manage the financial risk of clients, including financial advisory services, identification and origination of market opportunities, research, economic analysis. 

The chance to make an impact

On this programme, you’ll develop specialist expertise as a banker, there are several teams that specialise in different areas – including equity and debt origination, loans, structuring, risk management, leveraged finance and syndication. You’ll get a unique insight into our work from colleagues across Barclays, and take on your own projects with our full support. You’ll start with intensive training focused on developing skills in a particular area.

You’ll also:

• Work on live deals and deal proposals

• Prepare new business presentations

• Learn the art of executing transactions

Who we're looking for

To be considered for this programme, you must be motivated and curious with a degree or expected degree, in any area.

Ideally, you will have an interest in business and finance, a good work ethic and be keen to learn and develop your skill set, allowing you to deliver the best products to our clients.

This role is regulated by the FCA.

Barclays will accept applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship to work in the UK and will provide a skilled worker visa for successful applicants if they meet the Home Office’s eligibility criteria for a skilled worker visa. Successful applicants who are not eligible to receive a skilled worker visa, and who we are therefore unable to secure a skilled worker visa for, will be required to have their own legal right to work in the UK on a full-time basis from either February OR July 2027 (the month which will apply to you will be dependent on your aligned intake date) to July 2029.
