We have a well-established global M&BD team which supports the firm on a wide range of business development, client relationship management and reputational activities.

We are seeking a
 

M&BD Advisor Automotive and Mobility and Aerospace and Defense (m/w/d)

full-time in Munich

You will work closely with the global and local M&BD teams, along with the global Sector Heads, leadership teams, and key lawyers to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and business development strategy that drives client engagement, strengthens market positioning, and supports the long-term growth of the sectors.

Your key responsibilities

Strategy and business planning

• Support sector leadership, the M&BD teams, and others to design and execute a global strategy that aligns with firm objectives and strengthens market position in the A&D and A&M sectors

• Support the development of the A&D and A&M sectors' yearly business plans and ensure implementation that supports the global sector strategy

Marketing campaigns, profile raising, and thought leadership

• Plan, create, and help manage the implementation of marketing communications, including seminars and client events, client trainings, client-facing materials, external conference attendance, as well as web and social media content

• Lead and support directory and award submissions for relevant rankings and publications

• Coordinate input for sector-specific thought leadership publications

• Collaborate with the PR team to implement profile-raising strategies for the sectors and individual partners

Events and sponsorships

• Support client seminars, webinars, and other marketing events — managing materials, supporting vendor selection, developing client communications, and handling day-of logistics and follow-up reporting

• Support the evaluation, coordination, and execution of sponsorships, including support with negotiating agreements and managing participation, to ensure the firm maximises return on its investment

• Work with the sector heads and leadership teams to plan internal meetings, retreats, and sessions focused on educating the firm about the sectors

Pitching, targeting, and new business generation

• Develop, manage, and support responses to RFPs, pitches, and proposals tailored to client needs

• Create and maintain a suite of standard targeting materials, including credentials documents

Internal communications and knowledge sharing

• Support sector working group efforts as M&BD lead and share best practices and processes across the global sector team

• Maintain key M&BD resources, including on the global intranet and hoganlovells.com, team lists, and master credentials documents

• Support M&BD leadership to promote our capabilities across the firm, including through global retreats, internal newsletters, conference calls, meetings, and the intranet

Wider M&BD projects

• Flexibility to support across other sectors as needed

• Manage and contribute to broader M&BD projects and assignments, as appropriate

• All members of the firm are expected and encouraged to participate in our global Responsible Business program

• Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location, and services

What we expect from you

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in marketing, communications, or a related field

• Three years of relevant experience required, preferably in the legal or professional services sector

• Knowledge and experience in the Aerospace and Defense and/or Automotive and Mobility sector preferred

• Fluent in English and German

• Ability to independently execute campaigns and other assigned projects

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

• Able to think broadly and demonstrate a high level of initiative

• Highly motivated and enthusiastic self-starter

• Pragmatic, diplomatic, and resourceful, with the ability to adapt quickly to different situations and personalities

• Able to work both independently and collaboratively, especially with teams across countries and time zones

• Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to multi-task and maintain an excellent eye for detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with, and willingness to leverage, the firm's preferred AI tools
