SAP Business AI (Joule and Basic ABAP)
Join Deloitte Tax Services India Private Limited and help deliver technology-enabled tax solutions that support complex business transformation. In this role, you will contribute to SAP-based tax technology solutions that combine ABAP development, SAP S/4HANA capabilities, and emerging SAP Business AI tools. You will work across business and technology teams to build scalable solutions that support modern tax and legal requirements while improving quality, efficiency, and user experience.
Work you'll do
As an SAP Business AI (Joule and Basic ABAP) on the Tax Technology Services team, you will be responsible for:
- Design, build, and enhance SAP S/4HANA solutions using ABAP on HANA, RAP, Core Data Services (CDS), and OData services.
- Develop SAP Business AI, Joule, and AI agent use cases that support tax technology processes and business requirements.
- Design and develop RAG based applications, have experience on SAP Business AI portfolio including but not limited SAP Joule studio.
- Create and optimize RAP artifacts, CDS views, and service integrations to support Fiori-enabled applications and connected SAP and non-SAP environments.
- Apply development standards, performance tuning practices, and clean-core extensibility principles across solution design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Support Agile delivery through technical documentation, unit testing, defect resolution, production support, and collaboration with cross-functional project teams.
The team
Deloitte’s Tax Technology Services team helps organizations align tax requirements with enterprise technology strategy. The team works across tax, business, and IT stakeholders to design and implement scalable SAP solutions that support compliance, reporting, and operational transformation. This role sits at the intersection of SAP development, tax process enablement, and emerging AI capabilities.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 2-5 years of experience in SAP or SAP S/4HANA development
- Hands-on experience with ABAP in SAP S/4HANA or ABAP on HANA environments
- Experience building SAP Business AI applications or AI agents
- Experience with RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP), including behavior definitions or implementations
- Experience with Core Data Services (CDS) views, annotations, or associations
- Experience exposing or supporting OData services in SAP environments
Preferred:
- Experience with HANA-optimized development practices, including SQL or CDS pushdown and query performance optimization
- Experience with modern ABAP development practices, including object-oriented ABAP and exception handling
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- SAP Business AI, Joule, or SAP business AI certification
- SAP certifications in ABAP for S/4HANA, RAP, or SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
- Experience with SAP tax touchpoints or tax-related SAP process design
