The Chief Information Security Office (CISO) is home to deeply talented colleagues that work to ensure the safety of Citi's clients, our revenue and employees. We manage information security as one end-to-end program with a clear mandate and accountability. Our mission is a program that is fully anchored to modern control and architectural frameworks, is fully aligned with the enterprise architecture of the firm and is deeply integrated into the businesses and functions.

AI models can now autonomously discover and exploit zero-day vulnerabilities in production software. We're building the defensive capability to match. Our CISO organization has four teams working at the intersection of AI and cyber security:

• Offensive Security & Vulnerability Management: AI-assisted pen testing at a scale previously impossible. Automated exploit validation. Bridging the gap from "AI found a vulnerability" to "the application team has a PR to fix it."
• AI & Emerging Technology Security: Defining how the bank deploys AI safely. Security architecture and assurance for new implementations, plus building the next generation of AI-powered tools for our CISO colleagues.
• Cyber Security AI Services: Owning the AI products CISO depends on in production: security assurance, cyber security operations, governance and controls, vulnerability assessment.
• Cyber Security Operations: Detection, triage, and response for a world where adversaries use AI to find and exploit vulnerabilities faster than traditional detection can keep up. Behavioral analytics for AI agents. Playbooks for AI-originated attack scenarios.

About the Role

Our teams are building capabilities that don't have playbooks yet. We need a Technical Project Manager who can drive delivery across all of them.

This is the connective tissue role. You'll own the cross-team program that turns technical ambition into shipped capability: coordinating roadmaps, managing dependencies between teams that move fast, and making sure what we build lands in production on a timeline that matches the threat landscape.

Citi has deployed AI tools to 180,000+ employees, equipped 30,000 developers with AI coding assistants, and is rolling out agentic AI capabilities firm wide. Securing that footprint requires more than brilliant engineers. This role requires someone who can orchestrate the work, keep stakeholders aligned, and relentlessly clear the path to delivery.

• Engineering-led, not governance-heavy. These are small, high-autonomy technical teams. You won't be filling out status templates. You'll be in the room shaping what gets built and how it ships.
• Real urgency, real impact. The threats are active, the work ships into production, and it protects one of the world's largest financial institutions. This isn't an innovation lab.
• Unique scope. Very few organizations operate at this intersection of AI and security at this scale. The delivery frameworks you build will influence how the industry responds.

Responsibilities

• Own the cross-team program roadmap. Define milestones, manage dependencies between the four CISO AI teams, and ensure delivery stays aligned with strategic priorities and the evolving threat landscape.
• Drive agile delivery. Work within scrum and release ceremonies. Continuously review priorities, refine backlogs, identify risks early, and remove blockers before they stall progress.
• Manage stakeholder alignment. Coordinate across CISO leadership, engineering teams, business functions, and enterprise technology partners. Translate technical progress into clear executive communication.
• Track and report program health. Build and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reporting that give leadership real visibility.
• Coordinate cross-functional dependencies. Manage intersections with enterprise architecture, compliance, risk, legal, and other technology teams. Ensure regulatory and policy requirements are embedded in delivery plans, not bolted-on after the fact.
• Drive resource and budget planning. Develop business cases and budget requests. Track spend against delivery. Support headcount planning and vendor/tool evaluation as the program scales.
• Lead delivery of new capabilities. When a team is building something that doesn't exist yet (a new AI-powered detection pipeline, an agentic AI containment framework, an automated vulnerability remediation workflow) you ensure it moves from concept to production.
• Enable cross-team knowledge sharing. Facilitate coordination so that breakthroughs in one team (e.g., a new AI evaluation framework) are rapidly adopted by others where applicable.
• Stay current on AI and security. This space moves fast. You need to understand enough about LLMs, agentic AI, vulnerability research, and detection engineering to have informed conversations with the specialists and to know when a timeline estimate is realistic or optimistic.
• Keep safety non-negotiable. We're deploying AI systems inside a global bank. Security, compliance, and AI safety are built into delivery plans from day one. Appropriately assess risk when decisions are made, drive compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and escalate control issues with transparency.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking technical project managers with a proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional programs in security, AI/ML, or enterprise technology environments. We have opportunities for candidates with a range of experience, from 1 year to over 5+ years. See the 'Levels We're Hiring For' section for more details on specific experience requirements.

Must-Have

• Agile delivery expertise. Strong experience with agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) in practice, not just in theory. You've shaped delivery processes for teams doing genuinely novel work.
• Technical program management depth. You've run programs with multiple engineering teams, competing priorities, and real ambiguity — not just tracked Jira tickets. You know how to build structure without killing velocity.
• Security or AI/ML domain fluency. You don't need to write exploits or train models, but you need to understand the work enough to challenge estimates, spot risks, and earn credibility with deeply technical teams. Experience in cybersecurity, AI/ML platforms, or both are preferred.
• Communication that cuts through. We're distributed across multiple locations. Clear, direct, proactive communication is how the work gets done. You can distill complex technical programs into crisp executive updates and translate business priorities into engineering-actionable plans.
• Hands-on experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar delivery management platforms at enterprise scale.
• Basic technical literacy in Python, APIs, or data pipelines — enough to read a design doc and ask the right questions.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
• Familiarity with AI safety, model evaluation, or AI governance frameworks.
• Background in offensive security, vulnerability management, or security operations.

Levels We're Hiring For

This is an evergreen requisition for Technical Project Manager roles in our Cyber AI Engineering team. We are hiring at multiple levels of seniority.

• Vice President: 3-5+ years of experience.
• Assistant Vice President: 1-3+ years of experience.
