Job Description
Visa is seeking a Compliance Due Diligence Analyst to join Currencycloud’s New Business Onboarding team, part of Visa’s Money Movement Solutions business. The team plays a key role in supporting business growth by ensuring new clients and network partners are onboarded efficiently, consistently, and in line with applicable regulatory, financial crime, and internal governance requirements.
The team provides specialist onboarding, due diligence and risk assessment support throughout the client lifecycle, working closely with Sales, Product, Legal, Risk, Compliance and Operations. It is responsible for assessing prospective clients, managing onboarding approvals, resolving complex requirements, and maintaining clear, well-controlled processes that support timely and risk-based onboarding decisions.
What a Compliance Due Diligence Analyst does at Visa:
The Compliance Due Diligence Analyst plays a key role in applying financial crime expertise to support risk-based onboarding decisions for new clients and partners. Acting as a subject matter expert within the team, the role reviews complex due diligence cases, assesses AML, CTF and sanctions risks, provides clear recommendations, conducts quality control activity and supports effective decision-making in line with regulatory requirements, internal policies and Visa's risk appetite.
The core responsibilities for this role are as follows:
Manage end-to-end onboarding reviews for financial institutions, payment institutions, fintechs and corporate clients, ensuring cases are assessed in line with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Conduct customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and financial crime risk assessments and refresh activities for new and existing clients.
Assess client business models, ownership structures, products, services and control frameworks to determine alignment with Visa's risk appetite.
Support onboarding discussions with clients and internal stakeholders to obtain information, assess risks and progress onboarding decisions.
Review complex and high-risk applications, escalating material risks, and recommending appropriate mitigations where required.
Act as a subject matter expert and escalation point within the team, providing technical guidance on onboarding, financial crime and regulatory requirements.
Conduct quality control reviews of onboarding cases, providing constructive feedback, identifying trends and supporting continuous improvement across the team.
Support quality assurance activities, control testing, and remediation actions to ensure onboarding standards are maintained.
Maintain accurate case records, risk assessments, approvals, and audit-ready evidence to support governance requirements.
Partner with Sales, Product, Compliance, Legal, Risk and Operations teams to resolve onboarding queries and support business objectives.
Support training, knowledge sharing, and onboarding of new team members to build capability across the function.
We are currently operating a hybrid working policy, with the expectation being 3 days per week in the Warsaw office.
Qualifications
What You'll Need
5+ years' experience in AML, financial crime compliance, KYC, onboarding or risk management within the financial services, payments or fintech industry.
Strong understanding of AML, CTF, sanctions, and financial crime risk management frameworks.
Experience conducting customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, and risk assessments.
Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to assess complex client structures and identify potential financial crime risks.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound risk-based recommendations.
Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams in a fast-paced and regulated environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
ICA, ACAMS or other recognised financial crime qualifications.
Experience onboarding financial institutions, payment institutions, fintechs or complex corporate customers.
Experience conducting enhanced due diligence and reviewing financial crime control frameworks.
Experience supporting quality assurance, regulatory reviews or process improvement initiatives.
