Job Description
Visa is seeking a Compliance Due Diligence Manager to join Currencycloud’s End Client Refresh team, part of Visa’s Money Movement Solutions business. The team plays a key role in supporting business growth by ensuring new clients and network partners are onboarded efficiently, consistently and in line with applicable regulatory, financial crime and internal governance requirements.
The team provides specialist onboarding, due diligence and risk assessment support throughout the client lifecycle, working closely with Sales, Product, Legal, Risk, Compliance and Operations. It is responsible for assessing prospective clients, managing onboarding approvals, resolving complex requirements and maintaining clear, well-controlled processes that support timely and risk-based onboarding decisions.
What a Compliance Due Diligence Manager does at Visa:
The Compliance Due Diligence Manager leads the day-to-day delivery of onboarding activities across the portfolio, including client and network partner onboarding. The role ensures work is completed to a high standard and within a controlled framework, combining people leadership, operational oversight, stakeholder management and financial crime risk awareness. The manager acts as a key point of coordination between commercial, operational, risk and compliance teams, supporting clear, risk-based decisions and continuous improvement across the onboarding process.
The core responsibilities for this role are as follows:
Lead and manage end-to-end onboarding activities for new clients and network partners, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and service level expectations.
Manage onboarding and refresh workflows, prioritization, case allocation, aged work queues and operational delivery across the team.
Oversee complex onboarding matters, including client-facing queries, discovery requirements, financial crime assessments, flow of funds considerations, stakeholder escalations and network partner onboarding dependencies, ensuring decisions, rationale and next steps are clearly documented and escalated through the appropriate governance channels.
Lead and support internal and external process walkthroughs, including engagements with network partners, external auditors and regulators, providing clear explanations of onboarding controls, process standards and risk-based decisioning.
Lead, coach and develop Financial Crime Senior Analysts and Analysts through performance management, succession planning, targeted development and day-to-day support.
Identify and address capability gaps through quality reviews, operational trend analysis and stakeholder feedback, ensuring analysts are equipped to manage complex onboarding activity to a consistently high standard.
Identify opportunities to strengthen onboarding processes, controls, automation and operational efficiency, helping to improve consistency, scalability and the overall onboarding experience.
Support strategic initiatives, regulatory change activity and process enhancement programs, ensuring onboarding requirements, controls and operational impacts are clearly understood and embedded effectively.
We are currently operating a hybrid working policy, with the expectation being 3 days per week in the Warsaw office.
Qualifications
Extensive relevant experience in financial crime compliance, risk, onboarding or a related financial services environment, ideally within the financial services, payments or fintech industry.
Demonstrable people management and team leadership experience, with a practical coaching style and the confidence to support, challenge and develop analysts in a high-volume environment.
Strong analytical and risk-based decision-making skills, with the ability to review complex information, identify key risk indicators and reach balanced, well-reasoned conclusions.
Sound judgement and confidence handling ambiguity, especially where onboarding requirements, client structures, flow of funds or network partner expectations are complex or evolving.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to explain risk, control and onboarding requirements clearly to stakeholders at different levels of seniority.
Strong organization and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines, operational pressures and stakeholder expectations without compromising quality or control.
High attention to detail and strong written documentation skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise and audit-ready rationale for decisions, approvals and escalations.
Collaborative and pragmatic working style, with the ability to build trusted relationships across commercial, operational, risk, compliance and network partner teams.
Continuous improvement mindset, with curiosity, resilience and the ability to identify practical ways to improve controls, efficiency, consistency and team ways of working.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Law or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Relevant financial crime or compliance certification, such as CAMS, CFE or equivalent, is desirable.
Experience supporting procedure governance, control testing, audit responses, regulatory requests or financial crime remediation activity is desirable.
Experience supporting system enhancements, process automation or workflow improvement initiatives is desirable.
