The business combines sales, trading and research teams who structure a range of financial market products and market these to our targeted client base. DB trades all currencies, including G10, Emerging Markets and Metals, in all tenors.  Working in a period of economic and regulatory uncertainty, the team places emphasis on innovation, collaboration and risk management. The Global Foreign Exchange (GFX) business is looking to hire an senior traders to build and manage metals risk in Japan. The person will be an integral part of the Global Foreign Exchange business in Asia Pacific.

Your key responsibilities:

As an Metals Trader you will be responsible for:

• Responsible building business onshore Japan across precious and base metals, with focus on physical (precious), relative basis trading , otc trading and monitoring / managing positions for global books
• Developing strong client pipeline across physical, derivatives and electronic - helping to gain wallet and market share and importantly helping e metals trader to ensure our e-spot offering aligns to market conditions
• Participate in continuous improvement of hedging dynamics, balance sheet usage and risk management techniques thereby enabling to have a high return on leverage and above average sharpe ratio
• Partner with sales and structuring teams to market our product / trading ideas to optimize volumes and revenues across inventory books 
• As part of the  linear voice desk team  continuous  provide competitive pricing for clients in collaboration with traders in other locations to complete the circle of risk
• Develop a strong two way communications with regulators, trade associations , market infrastructure providers etc 

Your skills and experience:

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
• Minimum 15 years of prior work experience in Metals Trading onshore Japan and offshore markets 
• Experience of managing the market risk of relative basis, forward and physical books 
• Experience in e book running with strong technical experience in onshore Japan markets 
• A thorough knowledge of onshore regulations, exchange rules , taxation etc 
• In-depth knowledge of the global precious metals spot and forward markets
• Commercial focus, ability to take initiatives, and skills to solve complex business problems
• Ability to articulate ideas confidently and concisely.
