As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Consumer & Community Banking, you will be a vital member of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. You will drive significant business impact through your expertise and contributions, applying deep technical knowledge and advanced problem-solving skills to address a wide range of challenges across multiple technologies and applications.
Job Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and day-to-day support to business partners, contractors, and vendors.
Design and build secure, production-grade mobile solutions, making key decisions on architecture, functionality, and operations.
Develop and maintain iOS applications using Swift, SwiftUI, and Objective-C.
Develop and maintain Android applications using Java and Kotlin.
Review, debug, and improve code written by self and others to ensure quality and maintainability.
Optimize and validate performance across devices (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Android) and form factors.
Deliver complex front-end implementations for large-scale mobile applications, including automated testing.
Partner with UX/design teams to prototype and implement features that enhance user experience.
Drive reliability, scalability, and delivery excellence by applying Agile practices (Scrum/Continuous Delivery) and supporting SRE practices
Drives adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, incident/root-cause analysis), while establishing measurable validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of proven patterns and automation within the SDLC/TLM toolchain.
Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation at scale.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification in software engineering and 5+ years of applied experience.
Experience across system design, application development, testing, and operational stability/support.
Proficiency in at least one mobile-relevant programming language.
Strong knowledge of iOS (Swift/Objective-C, UIKit/Cocoa) and/or Android (Java/Kotlin) frameworks.
Familiarity with iOS architectural/design patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVC, MVP, VIPER).
Experience integrating native device capabilities (Camera, Push Notifications, GPS, CoreML, VisionKit).
Understanding of mobile security (device registration, biometrics, encryption, data protection).
Experience with API integration and mobile tooling (e.g., Xcode) plus auth standards (OAuth/SSO).
Proven delivery of apps via App Store/enterprise distribution using CI/CD; strong Git/source control and Agile practices.
Demonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching senior engineers/leads on compliant usage patterns and controls.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall development methodologies.
Experience testing mobile applications on devices and simulators for both iOS and Android.
Familiarity with build automation tools and frameworks for static and dynamic analysis.
Ability to assess technology risks, perform threat modeling, and communicate risk to stakeholders.
Experience building relationships with cross-functional teams, including technology, business, audit, and risk partners.
