The Role
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Mid-Level Associate to join our Employment & Compensation Practice Group in Mexico City. This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated employment matters for leading domestic and multinational clients, combining both labor advisory and labor litigation experience in a fast-paced, collaborative, and international environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with partners and senior associates, advising clients on day-to-day employment matters, strategic workforce issues, labor compliance, and complex disputes.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on a broad range of employment and labor law matters.
- Provide practical and business-oriented counsel regarding hiring, termination, workforce restructurings, labor compliance, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and workplace policies.
- Represent employers in labor litigation and administrative proceedings before labor authorities and courts.
- Draft and review employment agreements, policies, executive compensation arrangements, settlement agreements, and other employment-related documentation.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions, memoranda, and client presentations.
- Support employment-related due diligence exercises and labor aspects of corporate transactions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary and cross-border teams on regional and global matters.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through responsive, high-quality legal service.
Skills and Experience
- Law degree and license to practice law in Mexico.
- Approximately 3 to 6 years of experience in employment and labor law.
- Solid experience in both:
- Labor and employment advisory/consulting matters.
- Labor litigation and dispute resolution.
- Strong technical knowledge of Mexican labor and employment legislation.
- Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal), with the ability to communicate effectively with international clients and colleagues.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, client service, and professional excellence.
