Job Description

Purpose of the role

Deliver exceptional sales and business performance by acquiring, developing and maintaining highly proactive, long term client relationships. Protect Barclays reputation through sound risk decisions by managing client group within their risk profile and appropriate regulatory framework.

Accountabilities

• Manage and grow client relationships and acquire new clients - identifying and managing solutions to meet a wide range of client needs.

• Establish a sound understanding of the strategy of the clients in their portfolio through regular proactive contact, responding to client / prospect queries and requests and identifying opportunities that will deliver long term commercial reward.

• Manage operational, reputational, financial crime and credit risk for the portfolio to avoid exposing Barclays to undue risk.

• Ensure all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework  and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards Service/group relationships - referrals to group colleagues.

• OR for an individual contributor, they will be a subject matter expert within own discipline and will guide technical direction. They will lead collaborative, multi-year assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments. They will train, guide and coach less experienced specialists and provide information affecting long term profits, organisational risks and strategic decisions..

Required Skills

• Proven experience (minimum of 10 years) in private banking or wealth management, ideally covering the Non-Resident Indian market.
• Strong client relationship management skills with the ability to acquire, develop, and retain high-net-worth clients.
• Solid understanding of investment products, financial markets, portfolio management, and wealth structuring solutions.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
• Strong risk awareness and ability to comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Desired Skills

• Existing network of high-net-worth clients within the NRI segment or broader Asian wealth market.
• Relevant professional qualifications such as CFP, CFA, or equivalent wealth management certifications.
• Experience working with cross-border banking, offshore wealth solutions, or international client structures.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with investment specialists, product teams, and senior stakeholders.
