Our Global Value Added Tax Services practice, a multicultural and energetic national specialty group within our Indirect Tax practice, is looking for dynamic individuals who are self-motivated and prepared to travel to support the national practice and its international clients.

What You’ll Do
As a Tax Senior, you will help businesses manage their indirect taxes effectively by providing tax technical support, guidance on effective processes implementation, and leveraging technology solutions. Deloitte provides client focused advisory services on local and international indirect tax related matters including planning, rate determination and international consulting such as foreign indirect tax requirements.
Responsibilities
- Advise U.S. and foreign multinational companies on the indirect tax implications of their international operations and cross-border business activities.
- Support and manage VAT/GST and other transaction-based tax compliance and advisory engagements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with U.S. and USI colleagues to deliver high-quality client service, while providing guidance and support to junior team members through coaching, mentoring, and review of their work.
- Partner with onshore and offshore leadership, including USI Managers/Senior Managers, in managing day-to-day project responsibilities, client deliverables, and operational priorities.
- Work directly with clients and coordinate with indirect tax professionals across Deloitte’s global member firm network to support the delivery of integrated tax solutions.
- Assist clients in addressing complex international indirect tax requirements related to mergers and acquisitions, ERP implementations, multi-jurisdictional compliance obligations, and supply chain transformations.
- Support the integration of indirect tax considerations into broader business strategies, helping clients navigate evolving regulatory requirements and business challenges.
- Help clients identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce compliance risk, manage costs, and enhance the effectiveness of their indirect tax functions.
- Utilize technology-enabled compliance and advisory solutions, including tax automation and data analytics tools, to improve efficiency and service delivery.
- Review, analyze, and interpret financial and tax data to support compliance, reporting, and advisory engagements.
- Contribute to team development initiatives by sharing technical knowledge, promoting best practices, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
- Stay current with indirect tax developments, industry trends, and emerging technologies to support continuous improvement and innovation within the practice.
The Team
Our Global VAT Services practice assists multinational companies with a wide array of indirect taxes including value-added tax (VAT), goods & services tax (GST), consumption tax, and many other transaction-based taxes. The practice concentrates its efforts on providing state-of-the art indirect tax advice to its clients, helping these businesses effectively manage indirect taxes by providing tax technical support, guidance on compliance and reporting requirements and process improvements, and assistance with leveraging technology solutions. We are a multicultural team from around the world with diverse backgrounds in tax, law, economics, business, and more. The practice works closely with Deloitte’s Global network of VAT/GST specialists based in more than 150 countries worldwide.
Work Location: Gurugram/Hyderabad
Shift Timings: 11 AM to 8 PM IST
Qualifications
Required:
- Full-time Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in global indirect tax, preferably supporting jurisdictions across EMEA, APAC, and LATAM.
- Strong technical knowledge of VAT/GST and other transaction-based taxes, with experience supporting multinational clients on indirect tax compliance and advisory engagements.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating multiple projects, reviewing deliverables, and providing guidance to junior team members.
- Strong experience in, and/or demonstrated interest in, indirect tax technology, automation, and digital transformation initiatives, including tools such as Alteryx, OneSource, Vertex, SAP, or similar platforms.
- Proven project management, stakeholder management, and data analytics capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience collaborating with global teams and engaging directly with clients and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
- Prior Big 4 experience preferred.
- Relevant professional certifications or accreditations in tax, finance, project management, or tax technology platforms (e.g., PMP, OneSource, Vertex, or equivalent) are an advantage.
